King Me

Before this book, Kingston Wilde was basically a complete mystery. What the Wilde family knew about him is what we knew about him, and what we knew was completely off base - because King has been lying to his family for years.

He isn't a part of the CIA or anything like that - he's actually a notorious art thief, and has been for the last five years...but now, he's hanging up his hat, so to speak, and is ready to come home.

But first, there's Dirk Falcon and a little thing called the FBI to deal with. And yeah, I know Dirk is such a funny name, but the man himself is pretty damn great. And King thinks so too with the way he feels completely head over heels for him. But no worry, Falcon falls head over for heels for King right back.

Remember at the end of the last book when some mystery man showed up before Doc and Grandpa's wedding and King booked it out of there? Well this book goes into what exactly was going on and why.

This book was fun from the first page. If real life didn't get in the way, I wouldn't have put it down. The story was intriguing, the characters were interesting, and the romance was riveting (and also these two were smoking hot together. Their sex scenes *fansself*).

So, turns out that when King was in grad school as a very talented artist, he caught the eye of an older man named Elek, a Hungarian art collector...and thief. He had a puppy love for the guy - on his side of things - but when the man betrays him two years prior to the start of the main action, King can't let it go and is bent on revenge against the guy.

So much so that he goes to great lengths to get him to have his comeuppance, even agreeing to work with Falcon, the man who has been hunting him, the notorious art thief known as "Le Chaton" and his task force in order to get to the guy - of course, not without full immunity if he does what they're asking of him, of course.

Over about the next week or so, King starts to fall for Falcon and Falcon for him as they plan a heist of their own for important government reasons. It complicates things, but makes things so much for interesting.

I also loved how seamlessly King fit into their task force group, and the secondary characters in that group were great characters and I really enjoyed them.

This story was exciting from start to end, and where King and Falcon end up at the end of this is wonderful and oh so sweet. Was this story 100% realistic? Nah, but who cares? It was fun and entertaining and very well written with a steaming hot romantic couple that takes center stage - and it feels believable when they fall for each other fairly quickly as well.

Overall this was a big thumbs up for me, I loved it from start to finish. Is there a way for there to be more Wilde siblings? Because I won't want to finish this series any time soon, I am loving it so much.

Two massive thumbs up from me!
adventurous fast-paced

This was so nerve-wracking, lol!

Was King going to get caught? Can Falcon be trusted? What about his team? Aaaahhhhh!

So as to be expected, I couldn't put the book down because I had to know what happened!

And it was glorious! I love this series! Wilde Family for the win! :)

This was another book in the series Forever Wilde and one I really enjoyed. Partly because it didn't have some of the problems I had with the last books in the series, but it also had a premise which I really enjoyed.

In King Me, Falcon is an FBI agent trying to catch Le Chaton, a notorious art thief but when an important crown goes missing, he has to work with that art thief. King gets involved for reasons of his own and then sparks fly.

There were White Collar vibes with this book and I loved it. Falcon and King don't really trust each other but they slowly built up their relationship over the course of the book and it was delightful to see the two of them learn to trust each other. There were many secrets between Falcon and King but, to Lennox's credit, the confrontation didn't happen in a way I expected.

The plot and the relationship worked well together, no one really held the Idiot Ball too much and I enjoyed how everything was tied up in the end. Not to mention there wasn't highly awkward conversations where the Wilde family discusses each other's sex lives in great detail so I was much happier with this book than the last one.

4.5 stars!

Something different for the series but just as fantastic!

Another masterpiece from Lucy Lennox. This 7th book in the Forever Wilde series gives us art thief King Wilde and FBI Agent Dirk Falcon. Of course King is a Wilde so you know there’s more to the story than meets the eye. Heist novel, meet romance novel!

The author does a great job laying out the twists and turns of the sting and heist. I was feeling lots of good, nostalgic vibes for Leverage, Burn Notice and especially White Collar. If only Tim DeKay’s character had been gay and ended up with Matt Bomer’s character!!

The mystery is well executed with some fun twists and turns. The climatic scene is so suspense filled I think I held my breath the whole time I was reading it. I had such a joyous victory feeling when all was finally revealed. At that point I heard the music from The Sting In my head. Such a great summation to the suspense portion of the book. And proving that the warning “hell hath no fury...” applies to any spurned lover regardless of gender.

I loved the ending scene and I look forward to the next Wilde child’s book.

Each time I read a book in this series, I think Lucy has outdone herself and then the next one comes along and it's just as good but in a totally different way.

This is a heist romance along the lines of Ocean's Eleven/Twelve where the agent and the thief have a history which complicates matters and brings a delicious tension to the narrative.

It's funny, fast paced and packed with wonderful historical nods and a love for art history which I totally appreciated.

Kingston being an art thief instead of the CIA/FBI agent hinted at during the Epilogue of the glorious book six (Grandpa and Doc's romance, which remains my overall favourite) was genius.

The rest of the book's plot won't be spoiled by me, suffice it to say, every bit of it just worked for me personally.

I loved King and I adored Falcon and their enemies to frenemies to lovers romance was perfect.

A good book! Art heists and forgeries are so interesting! King and Falcon go together like water and oil at first and it so entertaining. This book does come with a happy ending so I would recommend. 4.5/5

There is more to life than the job. And as much as you like to see things in black and white… life isn’t usually like that. It’s a whole rainbow. And that man,” she said, pointing a thumb toward the direction of the cliffs, “is colorful as shit. You need someone like that.”
“He’s an art thief.”
“He said he’s done with that.”
I gave her a look. “And we should believe him. Even if he means it now, what if he can’t stay away from it?”
She threw up her hands. “What if a meteor lands on all of us tonight? You can play the what-if game all day long, if your goal is to go to sleep in an empty bed at night.”

After [b:Wilde Love|45362841|Wilde Love (Forever Wilde #6)|Lucy Lennox|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1556575433l/45362841._SY75_.jpg|66306901] probably my second favourite of the series. Lucy Lennox tried to write a heist romance, and holy hell, did it work out perfectly. I was hooked from the very first page and enjoyed every part of the story. Kingston and Falcon had amazing chemistry and I just like their bickering.

I liked King's backstory of how he got into art, forgery and subsequently into art theft. The Wilde family is not as present as it was in the previous books, but that makes sense because most of the story happens outside Texas. Their small appearances are nice though, and instead of family sass, we get Falcon's crew. I liked most of the characters, but King was the most endearing. I think he's my favourite out of all the brothers/cousins in the Wilde family.

The evolution of Le Chaton and the ending of this everrunning persona was great. Just the right mixture of romance and heist.
