This is truly a beautiful written story that showcases women strength in adversity and in general, showing how strong yet vulnerable can women be and the braveness there is in all of that. Isabelle and Vianne so different and yet brave nonetheless each in their own way.

I know it is wold war two story, but still i think it could be just as important today. With the depiction of the soldiers from Germany as they were, normal looking boys. I think Hannah Arendt said it best when she said there was banality in evil.

Really heartbreaking beautiful story to be told.

A true five star read about the power of love, and the courage to remain resilient and brave in the face of inhumane atrocities. A beautiful and heartbreaking novel about war and the unsung role of women.

Gut wrenching. Cried many tears. The novel left me hugging my son closer and realizing that nothing can be taken for granted.

Woah this book was SO good & left me so emotional!! The storytelling was absolutely invigorating. Not only did the progression of the war keep you engaged in the novel, but Vianne’s character development is simply fantastic. Another absolutely brilliant book by Kristen Hannah
