I really enjoyed the plot of this book. I couldn’t decide who I thought Aces was the entire time. I think it also covers important topics such as racism and sexuality. I appreciated that the book jumped right into the nitty gritty of the plot. The only reason this isn’t a full 5 star for me is because
I wasn’t aware they dropped out of the school? I knew they weren’t going, but it didn’t explicitly say it was because they dropped out. Then Devon mentioned it to the reporter and I felt that could have been a large plot point. Especially because one of Aces’ goals was to get them to drop out. It seemed to be brushed over.

This books was described as Get Out meets Gossip Girl and it most definitely is.

Seriously a wild ride.  It was a nicely written twisted thriller that left me saying: “just one more chapter.”  The first part is a little slow to start, giving time to learn about the characters and a little about Niveus.  However, part two and three are where things get a bit more into the twists.  I loved all the Gossip Girls and Pretty Little Liars vibes that it had.  The ending and epilogue were good as well, seeing Chiamaka and Devon have a happy ending even after everything that happened.  Really good and I’m kinda glad I went into it knowing nothing about it, it made it all the more better.

ace of spades made me feel angry, disgusted and sad. it took me a while to get into it and it could’ve been kept shorter in my opinion. it was especially frustrating how long it took the characters to talk to each other. other than that i enjoyed ace of spades a lot.
i loved chiamaka and devon and that we got to see the mystery unravel from both perspectives. they’re very different but that’s what i appreciated the most. i also loved how the lgbt+ topic was approached. it obviously played a huge role in everything but it didn’t feel forced in any way.
