This is one of the only books that I did not like of this series. I did not hate it, there were just some things that left a bad taste in my mouth. For example, Marybeth would put down girls that Darrin dated who were not okay with her and Darrin's relationship.... Of course they were not okay with it! Marybeth and Darrin were constantly on-again, off-again and even when they were off they had a friends with benefits situation. Any self respecting girl would have a problem with her boyfriend spending so much time with the woman he was actually in love with but couldn't be with and who he had a sexual relationship with. Darrin was also at fault for putting these women in this kind of situation where the only end result would be them getting hurt. It was selfish.
Just as selfish was the way that Marybeth would keep Darrin on a fishing line. When he got too close, she would send him out but if he got too far, she would reel him back in. I hated this, it was manipulative, frustrating and showed such a lack of confidence in a person she is supposed to think the world of. I was so annoyed at the way Marybeth just decided Darrin's feelings for him. He is a grown ass man, give him all the information then trust him to make his OWN decision. Its just as sexist for a woman to overrule decisions an adult man make about his own life as it is sexist for a man to overrule decisions an adult woman makes about her own life. Marybeth does not have the right to decide for Darrin what he can or can't be okay with. This is not to say that Darrin is innocent either, he isn't. He should have put his foot down ages ago, he should not have dated other woman when he was so clearly not over Marybeth, he should not have continued to put himself in this situation.
All in all. They drove me crazy and I couldn't even muck up all that much enthusiasm when they finally got together. Danny and Jodi and the couples from the other books were the best part.

I enjoyed the beginning of this book. The friendship that started when they were children. I loved how they constantly antagonized one another. But, this book jumped around way too much. Although you see the friendship, you don't get the story of how they started sleeping together. It's just there. There are a bunch of things that happen suddenly with no explanation. The Bradford boys are always entertaining as are their spouses.
This book was just very choppy and I felt like there were a lot of pieces that were just thrown in. And some of the things that they did to one another were so immature and potentially hurtful.

This is one of my favorite series, but this one fell flat for me. Admittedly, I may have had my fill of romance right now. Nothing is holding my attention. What saved this book for me was the preview of the next installment which I'd kill for right now. The female lead in this one was annoying to me, made it hard to fully enjoy.

This is first book from r. l where i have to rate it this low. It was just beneath my expectations. I thought this one blow all the other ones but i was wrong.
2.5 stars.
I feel RLM has taken this formula too far. The characters are so similar I can’t even remember the differences in the previous books. The need for the author to make things funny have taken this to a completely different place than the first book which i really liked.
The repetitions in the character, dialogue, story was just too much for me. I think the author should try something completely different as this series, in my opinion, is done. Having said there here am I getting sucked into reading this so...

Although enjoyable, this story skips the beginning of the relationship and goes straight to the big misunderstanding.
And it doesn't work. I appreciate the way that she framed it so this story didn't overlap the last one in repetitive ways (this and [b:The Game Plan|17911643|The Game Plan (Neighbor from Hell, #5)|R.L. Mathewson|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1410705203s/17911643.jpg|25097974] occur at about the same time in-story).
Ms Mathewson has heard the feedback and thanks to her response I believe the next book in this series will be back to basics.

The story of yet another Bradford getting his happily ever after.
Darrin and Marybeth have been inseparable since they were kids, with Darrin claiming that he'd marry her someday the first day they met. She has proven less than cooperative, however, and is insisting on keeping their relationship, that has turned romantic, secret.
She claims that she doesn't want to get married, but he refuses to believe that and does all he can to get her to change her mind, and finally confess what she's been keeping secret from him.
Darrin is heartbroken when he finally learns the truth, but he loves her too much to let her go, something she has trouble believing, making him work hard to convince her.
While there are a couple of serious issues between the couple, most of the story follows the previous books' lighthearted tone, with an extra helping of immaturity between the main couple, who are used to daring each other to silly dares that they seem unable to refuse.
A few parts of the story felt a bit disjointed as well,, leaving me slightly confused at times. Not my favorite of the series so far. Next comes Duncan's story in [b:Christmas from Hell|27742535|Christmas from Hell (Neighbor from Hell, #7)|R.L. Mathewson|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1448136712s/27742535.jpg|47724236].
