3.5 stars ** A fun sequel with an interesting plot. It's fun to see new magical elements and characters introduced. There are some outdated terms and notions and it follows a similar plot formula to the third book.
I enjoyed how this book took you into the past to better expand on the story in the present. Enjoyable overall with much more going on.
The boys are really enjoying this series - we're reading together. I think this one is rather good though I liked Nimmo's Dragon's Child more. That was also very popular with both boys - one even chose it to give as a gift to a friend.
