How many oaks can i plant before I die??? I have 3 massive oaks in my backyard, and I loved learning about the world they support. I can't wait to plant my first acorn. I was fascinated by how much life oaks support throughout the seasons, how long an oak can live, and how I can be part of conserving these massive life givers.

Wowza! So much to learn about oak trees and their place in our ecosystems. Blue Jays load up on acorns, up to 5 at a time in their crop, and fly them to hideyholes and bury them. Effectively planting them far and wide. Oaks support more life than any other plant species. Plant natives to support wildlife!!!

A fascinating look at how important oaks are in our environments. It takes a month by month approach and describes what it going on with the oak, as well as around it.

It is a compelling, fact-dense read about oak trees and their importance in the American ecosystem. Sometimes a bit too light on details, sometimes a bit heavy, but a great read for any nature nerds who want to learn about trees!

Loved this. Broken down by each month and what you can expect to find happening to oaks through the seasons and what insects and birds are doing with the trees throughout this time. Definitely encouraging me to try planting some acorns myself!
