One of the rare series that each book see's improvement. Very easy to read and has distinctive characters.
In my opinion this one is quite weak in terms of storyline compared to the others in this series but still very good. I'm not a great fan of Anne but she is a prominent character here which lessened my interest significantly. Her character is developing with each book and I would like to see her become as powerful as she can be just like Luna did. We get to know more about Anne's past here which was interesting.
Pretty good! I like that a big ol' character is finally joining the party, and that this one lightened up on the angst that was the entirety of the last book. Still not super OK with this whole Anne/Alex thing since their power dynamics aren't exactly equal, and yet again.....where was Sonder. Please. I need my nerdy time mage.

Glad I read this shortly after the last. The last left me a little depressed for Alex as he judged himself and a few of his "friends" were on the outs with him due to judgment calls also. I thought all were very unfair judgments as he almost always is defending himself or those he cares about when these questions arise. Does overkill have something to do with it, or premeditation, sure but as he says and I do, "what choice did he have?", die himself, continue to get attacked? Nope... so the last book ends with a division among friends.
So we see that 2 of the 4 biggest judges of Alex actual support him, 2 he seems to have lost forever. Ann is doing her own thing and refused Alex's help. Then ... is working for the light council and he really is a judgmental DW. Ann is because of her past, seeing people die affects her in really bad ways. So when the lack of protection from friends puts Ann at risk, even though she refused Alex's offer before, Alex steps in again. Time to find Ann and see who is pulling the strings.
This was great and it made Ann and Alex understand one another better. Do the gang get back together, well you have to read it. Still, it will never be the same.

Was a pretty solid 4-star-read until halfway through when it basically compared asexuality to not being human.
That could have been bad phrasing though. But still, it is pretty insulting to do it. Sexual Attraction is no requirement for humanity.
Later on I realized that this whole book was only about justifying Alex and Anne possibly getting together after their fight. And... I was not in for it, I mean 2/3 of the book is only Alex and Anne.

Un tout petit peu moins captivant que les précédents, mais à nouveau une superbe lecture.
J'ai hâte d'en lire plus sur Richard !
