Fascinating look into serial killers but quite often felt off topic, and a lot of Dee’s personal opinions are expressed.
I would still recommend reading it though.

Yeah so I didn't really like this! I tried to be so positive the whole way through, but it was a bit dry? I love true crime podcasts, and am trying to get into true crime books, so thought an audiobook would be the right way to go. This book has left me feeling a bit "meh". I've listened to this man talk about serial killers for 7 hours, but apart from him quoting Ted Bundy, I don't remember much at all. Not the one for me I'm afraid!
I really enjoyed how this book wasn’t drawn out and provided short, straight to the point summaries of each person. The style of writing is very easy to read

Phew, what a book this was. I’ve been watching true crime docs and listening podcasts about it for some time now, so when I saw this one in the bookstore my interest was peaked and I couldn’t stop myself from picking it up. When reading this book it’s clear that the author has lots of experience in the field and knows what he is talking about. The book is a good combination of the description of the crimes of serial killers, their mindset at the time and when doing interviews all dashed with the opinion/thoughts of the author. Instead of just stating the facts like most do, by giving his own opinion and insights he makes it easier to really think with him and not feel that detached about the cases. I’ll be reading more of his books!
DNF - pretentious, poorly written, implies he is a criminologist but has no qualifications, ‘leftie’ government as an insult because prisoners are referred to as sir and madam in the uk. You can get information about these people from more entertaining content creators with no cost and also without implying that certain disorders lead to becoming a psychopath and due to how stigmatising it can be having a personality disorder (as I am diagnosed with one, and have never laid a hand on a person, the same for many with the same/similar diagnoses) I don’t think this rhetoric is something that should be perpetuated as this book does so soon into it.
Just want to give a warning for this book: I would rate it R; swear words, descriptive murder scenes, sexual assaults etc.
This book really delved into the lives of psychopaths..I was listening to the audiobook version and it was very unnerving, to say the least.
