ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS! I feel like I should have known who Marjorie Post was, but had no idea and was immediately sucked into the story from the very beginning! The author wove through so much accuracy with her book that it reads more like a biography, but with the ease of historical fiction.

Things that truly stood out to me included the challenge of being a strong businesswoman without a spot at the table and instead needing your husband to serve in your place - ugh. I also was immediately irritated at the care that her father received at the beginning of the book. So frustrated on his behalf!

I was enamored not only with her success in life, but also with her service and care for others - EVERY time. It was truly admirable. Definitely one that will make me continue to think about her in the future as a result!

For a bit repetitive towards the end with her husbands but overall a great girl boss centric book that really kept me interested!

This historical fiction book is heavy on history and bafflingly light on fiction/character development/ suspense/intrigue. You can just read Majorie’s Wikipedia page and skip this book.

This book was a delight and very engaging. My hometown is Post, TX so the bit of cameos of Marjorie's father visiting and buying his land in Texas and creating the town he named after himself was cool. :)
I knew little about MMP before this, and the very detailed descriptions of her life led me to want to know more about the actual woman and actually feel more connected to my hometown.

This book focused more on her marriages than her life, so I would say the title is a smidge misleading. But this was a good read regardless!

First off thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Random House for granting me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Marjorie Merriweather Post. From humble beginnings to being on first name basis with numerous presidents, from being a child of divorce to having 4 divorces herself, from Michigan to Russia to everywhere in between, lived her life to the fullest.
This book 3.5 starts rounded up to 4 for me, just because of the extensive detail of the different houses she furnished, it just seemed very repetitive at times with no clear reason.
I did learn quite a lot about this magnificent lady that impacted history in more ways than one.
