Rating: 5/5 stars

H rating: 4.5/5 - Dorian. I LOVE YOUUUUU! So sad that you ended up having no family, but still you were misunderstood and I was able see your love and feel it when you gave it.

h rating: 4/5 - Eden, oh Eden, it was insane how you came to be, it was more insane that triangle you fell in. Very much adored her too.

Drama: 5/5 - Continuous drama from before, but introduction to new stuff too, I am extremely happy with this series.

Thoughts: Love this one, am looking forward to book 3!!!

Spoiler warning: This is a pretty brief review but anything remotely spoilery is tagged. Beware if you haven't read the book!

Ughh, is it possible that this was worse than the first one. At least that one had a strong heroine going for it, this one is all 'I'm so bad at everything'. Like, seriously, accept you were taught by one of the most powerful witchesever and stop comparing yourself to your sisters! Eden really annoyed me, mostly because of this, and also because she was super naive and just ended up getting used again and again. Once again, there was a philandering love interest, but this was worse. He accepted he seduces women and still expects her to stay with him because 'he loves her'. Andddd, plot twist, she stays with him, accepting this part of him as totally normal. Also, his 'proposal' was delivered in a way that made her think she was getting arrested so well done, Dorian! The Prince Evander guy was weird and creepy and I still can't believe it took her 90% of the book to realise he was evil. Andddd, just to add an extra dose of unnecessary,

This wasn’t as good as as the first one. The protagonist didn’t have as much agency. Things just sort of happened to her. Also the twist at the end where the prince was actually evil was a little corny. He didn’t make for a scary villain. It was too campy.

***4.5 stars***

Of Glass and Glamour was so good. I liked it more than Of Beast and Beauty, which may partially be because I can't remember all of what happened in it, but I liked the characters and the magic better.

The Characters. The characters were the main reason I liked Of Glass and Glamour more than Of Beast and Beauty. I loved and hated these characters, but the ones I hated in this were also just better characters. Like, I preferred Dorian to Xander. Eden was my favorite, duh, because she is just so cool. And smart. Also, I love all of Mother Eville's adopted children! And Eden was great! Then there was Dorian, who I don't quite know if I liked. There were times where he was really funny and I definitely liked him, but there were also times where he was being too controlling of Eden, so I didn't like him as much. Then, Evander. Ew. I hated him throughout the whole book. He was mean, he was gross, and he was so terribly cruel. My least favorite character for sure. I loved Honor and Adelle. I definitely liked Honor more than Adelle, but they were both quite fun. And Bravado! I loved Bravado too!

The Plot. The plot in this book was great. I loved Eden's story line. Trying to find her family, trying to become queen, trying to kill a prince. Everything played out so well.
SpoilerOkay, I totally predicted that Dorian was Prince Vincent! The second it said that Prince Vincent was dead, I was like, no way. He's not dead! And then Dorian was introduced and I was like, okay, yeah, he's this "dead" prince.

The Magic. Okay, I liked glamour magic a lot more than whatever magic Rosalie had. It was super cool, and I would totally love to have it! I mean, being able to change anything to appear how you want it to be? That is literally so cool!

I am now moving on to Of Sea and Song, and I am looking forward to it so much! I love Meri, and I heard this book has pirates in it!!! Yay!

I wasn't sure what to expect going in to this, I haven't read the others in the Daughters of Eville series but I kept seeing the stellar reviews for this book and I knew I had to pick it up.

I loved this. It took a couple of chapters to get into the flow of the narration and the author's style but once I got it, I was hooked and didn't put the book down until I was done. It's a quick read, not challenging but it is so much fun! Eden is a fun protagonist and the supporting characters are interesting as well.

The book is a quick read so some of the storylines seem a little rushed but it doesn't detract from the enjoyment of the book in my opinion!
