4.5* I decided to reread this because I wanted to continue on into book 2 and I enjoyed this so much more than the first time. This book is just cool, the world building in this book is so creative and interesting!!

It took me a while to really get into this book but by the end I was very invested in Taisar and will be reading the sequel. Good YA fantasy with good world building and complex characters
