I thought this story was absolutely adorable. It has a beautiful (imo) slow burn romance with lgbtqia+ inclusion, which I adored.

There is also a character, Kanon, who has a disability and I loved that there was the disability inclusion in a respectful manner in the story. The way Saki was able to accept Kanon for who she was, was absolutely beautiful to me. As she seemed to be the only one who could at first, because Kanon does eventually become accepted by her peers with Saki’s help. And Kanon in turn opened up Saki’s heart.

This story was just endearing and I definitely want to continue the volumes and one day own them for my own manga shelves.

Thank you NetGalley and Kodansha Comics for access to this arc!

4.5/5 stars rounded up!

This was a cute story, I'm really loving seeing the disability rep in manga now that's both thoughtful and informative! I'm looking forward to the next volume and to see how these two girls' romance unfolds :3

Thank you NetGalley for an ARC of this book

This is an incredibly sweet manga and a fantastic start to a series. The art style is very pretty and expressive. Both main characters are lovely, and they have great chemistry as friends. And there are two side friend characters who I hope continue to have bigger parts in future volumes.

I thought the author did a great job with Kanon's Hard of Hearing, and included some great resources about it at the end of the book. The story has also laid the groundworks for Saki being aware that she's attracted to girls, so I'm definitely going to be keeping an eye out for future volumes of this manga because I would love to see how their friendship evolves.

This manga was so cute.

Saki is a highschool student who takes weekly piano lessons, one day she bumps into a beautiful girl and falls and gets a scrape. The girl gives her a band aid, but doesn't respond to her. Saki is soon to find out that this girl is Kanon, a new student at her school who she'll be sitting right next to.

Kanon is deaf, and makes sure the class know she wants to be left alone, she can fend for herself. Saki is determined to befriend this beautiful girl, and she manages to thaw Kanon's icy demeanor by learning her accessibility needs so she can affectively communicate with her.

Saki and Kanon find they have things in common like books and drama shows and they're cute friends, and possibly something more down the road.

I'm excited for the next volume.

Thank you to the publisher for this ARC copy, all opinions are my own.

Characters: Kanon Oikawa, Saki Kindaichi

Plot: After a chance encounter, Saki finds herself dreaming of the pretty quiet girl she ran into (literally) in the street at night. Lucky for her the mysterious girl is in her school and sits right next to her! Kanon is hard of hearing and has no intentions of making friends at school. As the story progresses their friendship blooms and Saki learns what life is like for Kanon and Kanon learns to trust Saki.

Thoughts: I devoured this book like it was the last manga on earth, and I can’t wait for the next volume! I love how Saki takes her time to learn more about the deaf and hard of hearing community and does her best to be a good friend for Kanon. Kanon experiences so much growth in this volume in learning how to trust the people around her. The book does a good job showing some of the differences between hard of hearing and deaf people. I love these two so much and can’t wait to see where their relationship leads.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me and e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.

At first I was attracted by the cover because it gave me yuri vibes so I went for it but Iwhen I starterd to read I got suprised to see that we got a hard hearing person. Ans as a deaf persone was happy i could relate to the character. Everthing she said about her daily struggles are the same as mine so it was good to see it thins kind of rappresentation that we neeed more of but are very few in mangas.
I really liked the amin character she does an effort to understand her disabilty and to be friends wih her and we can see her struggle probably with her sexuality. Their friendships is very cute and I found myself motre than once at giggling and just melting from cuteness. I can't wait to read the next volume, I missed reading this kind of manga.

Want to thank Netgalley and publishers for giving me the chance to read this book.

A story about a girl who becomes friends with someone who is hard of hearing. It was cute and the message is nice but the story in a whole didn't really draw me in that much.

A sweet, slow-burn start to a new manga series featuring two high school girls (Saki and Kanon) whose unexpected meeting turns into a touching friendship with hints of a romance to come. Kanon's initial appearance gave off a strong Komi (Can't Communicate) vibe, though Kanon definitely has no problem speaking up and putting up a wall with others due to her hearing loss. Saki comes across as kind if a bit nervous around Kanon, and she gradually becomes someone Kanon can trust. There are hints of an attraction between the two that will likely be developed more over subsequent books (along with more backstory), but this is a lovely start for a new series. 4 stars.

Thank you, Kodansha Comics and NetGalley, for providing an eARC of this book. Opinions expressed here are solely my own.
