It took me a while to finish this book mostly because it was very slow
Now throughout the story, my interest was piqued by who how "X" and Jay knew each other but when I finally found out how they knew each other and his hatred for her.... It was so damn LAME
This book seemed to be so much cooler than it was
Then when it started to end the story, it was GOOD and the last sentence just pissed me off.
description
Overall, the story was MEH

Once again Clarissa Wild has written another wonderful book! The characters were strong and stayed true right to the end. I feel like there could be a book 2 !?

I was intrigued from the start with this book and wanted to know more about the past relationship between the characters. I would have liked to see the characters redeeming themselves more through the book but it never really seemed to come to full fruition. There seemed to be a lot of unneeded killing and sometimes it could have been written better and more intriguingly. I did really like how well the sexual chemistry was written between the characters and it hit all the right notes for a hot and steamy, erotic romance.

Jay is a stripper and one day she takes a man to a hotel room. Suddenly a man comes into the room and shoots the other man. That is where all hell breaks loose. I don’t want to say any more because I don’t want to ruin the book for you. Even though it was pretty bad.

Oh dear, where do I start. I have read a lot of kinky stuff but I have to say this book was flirting with my limit to what I can stand to read. It wasn't the sex that had me going "wow" but it was the language. Let me give an example "Beg me to come because you are a filthy girl. You're a whore, and you desire my cum so badly... don't you?" even as I am writing this I get the chills. I mean that is just offensive. You don't talk like that to the woman you love. Please understand me. I don't mind dirty talk. I think it's great but calling her a whore that is just plain wrong. I didn’t like Mr.xs dirty talk and I didn't like him. He didn’t make sense to me. He hated her I get that but being so cruel, that is not right. I didn’t like Jay either. She had a sad life but she could have made something of herself instead she threw her life away. I think that is very sad.

The writing could have been better, as I said; better, dirty talk and the author could have done more to make me like her characters better. She could have used less sex and more character building. Let them grow. I am sorry to say that this book was a disappointment to me

Mr X is a mangled mess. His face has been scarred really bad and he’s missing an eye but you get he used to be fine. He is assigned to kill his childhood flame.
She’s now a junky Prostitute suffering from
Amnesia. He wants to kill her but you can tell he loves her. Etc etc

I started off hating this. It made my damn skin crawl. However, I read on, rand my skin slightly started to ease up. It wasn't until the very end however that I fell in love. The last line showed X's humour that we barely saw in his adult years. It pains me that he lost his innocence and love for others, because of his parents, and in the end, their love for the kill and the money. In the end, that's all anything a about with both characters parents. Money. Reputation. It sickens me. I won't mention anything that happens or it'll ruin it, even though you can guess most major events outcomes, but it's a great read once you get past X's need to inflict pain. It is in fact all he knows, and for that I can forgive him. I can't however forget anyone's parents.
