DID NOT FINISH

It started to feel like pseudoscience and a waste of my time.

I really enjoyed this book. It's not a full 5 stars because it lacks a criticality that I like to see in my science books -- Nestor's an evangelist, not a journalist. That being said, I happen to enjoy this particular evangelism and take it seriously due to my own physical experiences with breath and recovery from pregnancy. There's a coherent picture that can be painted here, and I really do want to see more science done on this -- how does proper breathing support the body?

The book reminded me to take nice slow belly breaths while reading, which was a nice side benefit, lol.

Devoured this like it was fiction. Finished it and immediately started on James Nestor's earlier book, Deep. Both are mind-bending, exciting, and fascinating. Breath will appeal to a wider audience.
