I found this book really compelling. To be fair, I've spent so much of my life - and especially the summer of 2020 - struggling to breathe, and finding that doctors are only able to fix some things some of the time and to some extent. Medicine has been very dissatisfying in this way. And so the research and anecdote in this book, on the whole, made a lot of sense to me. Some of the basic breathing exercises totally track with desperation tactics I've used when a spasm hit at an inopportune time to get it under control. Just reading it made me more conscious of my breathing, and I mean, if breathing exercises can help, it's worth a shot, right?

I mean, the "extreme breathing" bits got a little rough to imagine, and even if accurate, they were... extreme. But the rest was definitely a worthwhile read.

Fascinating - I've been breathing only through my nose since reading!

The book veered more towards pseudo-science than explaining more in depth about the different breathing techniques and how they can help you.
At one point in the book the author was claiming that just by breathing a man even dealt with his balding spots

Fascinating! This is a book I was very interested in and excited that I won in a goodreads giveaway! This book discusses all the different styles of breathing as far back as humans go, and all the benefits that can be achieved. The author makes it very easy to understand the science behind it and has many resources to back it up, along with resources to get help trying all the different techniques. I am excited to try some of them, and have already begun sharing what I've learned with my friends and family.

Incredible book!!! Loved the audiobook format, especially at the end when he called in someone else to guide the breathing exercises.
