What a sweet read! Dean “The Machine” Knox-Morelli is a former boxer and Tabitha Tyler is a filmmaker who rekindle their friendship from high school. Tabitha comes home after 9 years and is staying next to Dean. Dean is surprisingly a shy and not so confident guy. I love that! Tabitha is outgoing and has a wandering soul.

Their love story is cute and swoony! They have chemistry enough to share! I couldn’t put this one down, I read it in 1 day. I truly love how Kathryn draws you into her stories and makes you feel like you are there. I feel like I know South Philly, even though I’ve never been. She creates worlds that are real and characters that become friends. I’m always smiling when I finish Kathryn’s books.

4.5 stars. Oh my looooooooord Dean. Oh man. I would do so many things to protect that man. The entirety of the book I was saying both externally and internally “don’t you dare hurt him” because that sweet cinnamon roll of a man must be protected at all costs. This book was a perfect mix of sweet and sexy and funny and heartfelt and swoony and real. This book painted such a wild and colourful tale of South Philly and I fell in love with every single character. Only 4.5 stars because as usual the miscommunication trope is my least favourite trope (USE YOUR WORDS ADULTS). Ugh so good. So so good. Easily my favourite by Kathryn Nolan.

Kathryn Nolan DID IT AGAIN with this book. This is my third book from Nolan and every single one has sucked me in. I loved that this was a local book (South Philly), so I could literally visualize what she was talking about.

Cute and steamy read

I loved this story of Dean & Tabitha. Their undeniable chemistry, shared history and lives in progress swept me away to South Philly and this story of a sweet romance.

On the Ropes was my first Kathryn Nolan read and definitely won't be my last.

I fell in love with story and am always in for a second chance friends to lovers romance. This book did not disappoint. The evolution of the relationship between Dean and Tabitha had me turning page after page. Definite must read!

Now that I made you all read Lucy Score, you'll know where I am coming from with this. A few months ago, Lucy posted about Kathryn Nolan's new release Out of the Blue. I read it and completely melted into it. Gave it a five and still think about it to this day. So when I saw On the Ropes come out, and saw Lucy post about how good it was, of course I was going in for round 2. And let me tell you, it's clear Nolan is becoming one of those writers I don't hesitate to read.

On The Ropes by Kathryn Nolan is the first book I have read by this author.

Dean „The Machine“ Knox Morello is a retired boxer living in his home town after his luck turned down.
Tabitha hasn‘t been home in a long time. She‘s finally back in her hometown for some down time when she unexpectedly meets Dean again.

Their story is super sweet! I enjoyed it alot! Tabitha and Dean have been through alot in the past and their present is looking good so far.
I enjoyed their friends to lovers romance! It was sweet, steamy and gritty. It‘s not only about their love. It‘s about family, friendship and the town they are living in!

Kathryn‘s writing was great! It was flowy and easy to devour!

Sweet and steamy book that is both lighthearted and endearing! Another Kathryn Nolan gem. She may be my Top New Author (new-to-me) of this year!

What I loved:
•Community focus - a true love letter to South Philly
•Loyal and loving families of all kinds
•Inclusion delivered in an intentional, seamless way (rock on for having a bisexual main character - not common, and it was lovely)
•Communication is top notch

What I didn’t:
•I didn’t fall in love with either main character (but I still liked them and rooted for them), so it was missing a bit of that *must read now* factor.
