This book had my laughing at how weird Geena Davis truly is! She’s funny, witty and open about the important moments in her life and she shares her later in life ADD diagnoses which I found really brave and honest. Such an easy listen on audio!

It starts off a little slow but it’s really good by the end.

Dying of Politeness by Geena Davis

To be honest I’ve only watch two of Geena Davis movies: Thelma and Louise and A League of their Own. I mostly know her through her work foundation for Women and Girls for educational opportunities and equal work opportunities. I feel like I got to know a different side of Geena Davis through this book. We see her childhood, her move to modeling and eventually acting. Her interactions and behind the scenes of her various move roles. I really enjoyed this book thoroughly, if you’re a fan of movies, behind the scenes or Geena Davis, then this is for you!

I’ve been a fan of Geena Davis for years. The memoir provides a look inside her life from a young age. She’s funny, neurotic, serious, and smart. I wish Commander In Chief was still on the air. Her movie The Long Kiss Goodnight is an all time favorite of mine.

I wanted to give the memoir 5 stars for all Geena Davis has done to bring equality to the screen. She lead the way, read the book!

I found however, that there were a few discrepancies in the timelines or it may have been how certain events were laid out in the chapters. I enjoyed the book until she skipped over the entirety of her last marriage and birth of her children. She skipped over a decade of her life. I found myself on the web to research the name of her fourth husband to whom she was married for 17 years according the web. It made for an awkward end to the book.
