I KNOW there's a sequel. And this was the natural ending to this story. But there are too many loose ends for this to get 5 stars. I did enjoy this one though. I loved the multiple perspectives. I could handle the cliches and obvious plot turns. But I'm also a sucker for a royal plotline. So this was an enjoyable and easy summer read for me.

I HATED THIS BOOK. I also kinda liked it. But mainly I hated it. The writing style was plain bad and the plot and general vibe had too many similarities with the Selection. The cheesy moments made me want to literally shoot myself. And the characters- don't get me started on these goddamn people.
First and foremost, fuck Samantha. God, she's the stupidest, shallow, most immature, ignorant, and conceited person in the world. Oh boo hoo, I never get attention because I'm the spare. Ok? Why are you complaining? Why are you mad at your sister for being engaged to the guy you barely know but have a massive crush on? Samantha is the worst character. My hatred for her runs deep.
Daphne on the other hand is a scheming girlboss. She's awful, but she's the perfect villain. She's literally such a queen and yeah, she's done horrible things, but she has goals and fights for them even if its for the wrong reason.
Teddy is mid. He's just a nice guy. No complaints there, he knows what duty is and respects it.
Connor is boring. There is no appeal to him and he's a fool for thinking he can be with Beatrice. He's just a bad distraction and needs to get out of the way.
Nina is also incredibly boring, though she's honest about the impact that being in the public has. Breaking up with Jeff was her smartest decision- we love an aware queen! Also kudos for having to deal with Sam.
Finally, Beatrice. Ditch Connor. Follow your duties. Be the biggest literal slay queen and marry Teddy because its the right thing to do. Ignore your stupid sister's feelings because she's selfish and doesn't know whats good for the country.
So that's it. The ending was shit, but now I'm invested so I'm gonna read the goodreads summaries for the other books because I'm not wasting my time reading these books.

Easy read with an interesting story setup. I enjoyed the different voices throughout and how they all tied together. This made it hard to put down as I wanted to keep reading to find out what happened to each person. The book ended in such a way that I’m eager to read the sequel coming later in the year. It was interesting to read and imagine what it would be like if America did have a monarchy system.

Oh my gosh I loved this. It’s similar to the Selection, and it’s just as amazing and feminist. ❤️❤️❤️

Oh this book pulled me in quickly. I loved reading each different viewpoint and I felt all of the different emotions from Nina, Samantha, and Beatrice. I can't wait for the next book!

There was huge hype for this book, but I found it exhausting. The constant "will they/won't they" across FOUR relationship stories was too much for me. I like the premise and some of the characters, and I honestly may pick up the sequel when it's released. But if you haven't already dipped your toe, I would recommend skipping this book.

Vamos a dejarlo en 3 estrellas porque hay momentos que se han solucionado muy rápido a mi gusto y sin sentido
Media estrella se la regalo por lo de Juancas y Barrancas

Not a book I normally would've picked for myself; it was given as a gift. But I am so thankful for it! Can't wait to start the 2nd one!

This book was a total guilty pleasure read. Terrible, but couldn’t put it down. Definitely recommend it
