Fun idea about what would happen if America decided to have a monarch instead of a president/democracy. Pretty much a soap opera in book form though. And not a love triangle, more like a love web. So many tangles!
I've heard it compared to The Selection series, and I could agree with that.

What a fun read. The alternate history storyline of America having a Washington Royalty line ruling instead of a president- an escape from the political dumpster fire that we are living in right now.
More like 3.5 stars. The premise is interesting, the narration is good too. The book feels like made for a movie or a limited TV series, and I couldn’t care enough for the protagonists or all the descriptions of royal life, hence this is not a 4 star.
I’ll read the second book in the series though , coz it is a fun and quick read.

I'm here for the drama and ridiculousness. If you're not here for the drama, I definitely recommend you read something else.
So fun! Loved this book. It was so easy to read and I felt really captured by the story wanting to keep reading.
Starting the year strong with a refreshing YA story. Daphne is absolutely the perfect villain. Nina is the girl next door. And Jeff is so clueless.
This was such a fun read with a few, slightly predictable, twists and turns. I like some characters more than others so got annoyed when I had to read a chapter on my non-favs, but I’m excited to see what happens in book 2!
Oh this was a fun way to imagine America, and in some ways it seems better. ;)
