The opening chapters of this book were amazing! I was instantly hooked, but I did find that it slowed down a lot in the middle and there were some confusing parts. The ending more than made up for it though! I expected it to be predictable, and while I guessed one important plot part the rest had me shocked. Can't wait for the sequel!

I liked the idea of this book but for some reason it just didn’t hit the way I wanted it to

Just finished this book. Sometimes, I felt the book made slow progress, and other times, I had to reread some parts because it would have so much going on.

Threads That Bind was a great read overall. The book had a great adventure and the plot propelled at a steady pace keeping me as a reader engaged.

It missed the mark in the relationship aspect.

A huge portion of this book relies on telling the reader how profound the relationships or bonds are between the sisters and family, yet this was never felt just told.

The romance was not convincing either. While within close proximity, a lot of opportunities to convince the reader of a building relationship were missed. I just didn’t care about them by the end of the book.

Thank you to NetGalley for giving me an eArc of this book!

Overall this was a really enjoyable read. The world is vast, there's a lot of thought behind it, it's unique and enjoyable with lots of backstory and lore, both for the characters and the world itself. Lots of action, but also moments to sit with the characters and their thoughts. Things feel genuine! There are some decent twists! Ended on a killer note!

The only thing keeping this from being a 5 star for me is that sometimes there is TOO much information and it can get a bit repetitive in conveying the information about the different gods or background. We'd get a lot of information quickly in the middle of other things, or I'd hear a similar thing from earlier, and it could occasionally become too much or be confusing - but overall it's great, and I look forward to the next one.

Mehhhh...wanted to like it more than I did!
