Scout ruined this for me....so immature and selfish. It's ridiculous that a grown woman would feel EVERYBODY she meets will someday abandon her because she lost a few family members! This absurdity goes on up until 70% when I was hoping Easton would find somebody else.....so not a good place to be. I ended up skimming/skipping paragraphs to get to the end. The Santiago situation along with the two Dad situations was enough angst for me. I don't think I care enough to continue as I don't want Scout to get an HEA I don't feel she worked for. I did think a lot of the character names were cool!
It bothered me to no end how rude Easton could be to Scout. We were suppose to adore him as the Hero and too many times he would take his anger out on Scout and that's not Hero material to me.
And I kept waiting for that obvious plot twist to be revealed so we could get on with it. Both of them had pretty selfish dads. I did not agree with Scout's dad's tactics of pushing her away as his life was dwindling down.

Unpopular opinion here... but I just couldn't connect to these characters. There was nothing wrong with it. Easton was determined, sweet, and apparently smoking hot, but I just didn't feel the heat between them. Scout kept saying she was tough and detached but I didn't feel like her actions matched the description. The things she chose to hold back were inconsequential while the things she got emotional over didn't make sense.
It wasn't bad, it just didn't keep me interested enough to gobble it up in 24 hours like most books this size.

Didn't click with the characters, MMC was a sexist dick - did not enjoy
Solid baseball story. Each of the main characters are dealing with family legacies and how that impacts their lives.
I struggled with this book.
Both Scout and Easton was likable characters enough.
I would have liked to see Scout as a professional woman. We know she is a physical therapist, but her profession doesn't really play that a big a role. It was more a tool the author used to get her to work with Easton. I didnt believe she actually loved the work.
Her character wasnt developed enough for my taste.
Same goes for Easton. Hotshot baseball player with not enough depth.
Easton and Scout jumped into bed early into the book.
There was some drama.
He is worried for his position on the team. She is worried for her position on the team and earning the respect of the players, but nothing stood out and made me root for them as individuals or as a couple.
I didnt see the need to make this into a duet instead of a standalone book.

Perfect conclusion to Easton & Scout's story, I love everything about this story, how they catch each other was such an amazing storyline. The audiobook is fantastic, the narrators Joe Arden and Andi Arndt made a terrific job narrating it and I would totally recommend it.
The Player is K. Bromberg's new masterpiece. I've read the Driven series and a few other books by Kristy, and The Player is one of my favorites! I'm a huge sports romance fan and this book has so much baseball heart and these characters have such love for America's favorite pastime. The writing is fantastic, the characters well developed and the story is great. It's not your typical spoiled ball player/rehab therapist. Not even close. Easton is baseball royalty and he's cocky and confident, but he has every right to be. But, he's out of the game with an injury and when he's expecting Doc, he gets Doc's daughter Scout instead. A sexy, athletic, feisty PT. He quickly learns she can handle herself in and out of the locker room. Scout isn't immune to Easton's charm, but she has a job to do and it's not sleep with the player. She has to remind herself to not get attached, but when she spends hours a day with him and learns more about him, her defenses are weakened. Easton is working extremely hard to get his shoulder better and get back out onto the field. After spending time with Scout, he's determined to be more than just the player to her. He's never wanted a woman the way he wants her. She's perfect for him and not just because she gets him. She gets why he loves the game. She gets why he pushes himself. And she gets why it matters so much. Will Easton wear down Scouts walls and convince her there's more to them than just player and physical therapist? Will Scout be able to put her fears aside and let Easton show her what it's like to be cared for? I loved this story! So much. It's deep and emotional. Easton and Scout both have similar past situations and they have their reasons for the walls they've erected. But they also know when something worth fighting for shows up. I loved their banter about baseball. The innuendos were top notch! I laughed, cried, got mad, swooned and literally yelled at the end! I'm not sure how patient I can be waiting for The Catch!
It’s intoxicating. It’s unexpected. It’s everything in a kiss I never knew I needed, and yet somehow knew was missing.
“We’ll start working our way to first base, and then, depending on how you’re feeling, we can move onto second.”
“Nice. You get to run in front next time so I can watch your ass, then.” I laugh.
“Mine?”
“In baseball pants. That’s a requirement,”
