I really liked sections of this book, and the last like 4 pages are magical, but so much was just ok.

I was a bit disappointed in this book following all of the hype surrounding it. I read it after The Fault in Our Stars, and I think it was just too much of a tough act to follow. Also, Margo? I did not like Margo, at all! For a full review check out -

I tried to sleep on this one and it just bothered me. I was really disappointed after all the hype that John Green has amassed behind his books. The writing itself wasn't bad but I was just so not feeling the characters. I hated Margo. I pretty much resented her the entire book. Quentin was alright. I felt bad for him because for most of the book I felt like he had been taken advantage of. His friends annoyed me, particularly mister I will call all of the ladies honey bunnies... why even? Throughout the book they did get better and grow on me and I have to give them credit as friends because they definitely stood behind Quentin through this entirely too long book. Too long. I just was not a fan. I thought I was alone but as I started going through some of the other Goodreaders I felt some camaraderie and that made me feel a little better. I want to read the Fault in Our Stars because I've heard it is so good... but now I'm scared. I hope it isn't a huge let down when I do.

I really don't know what to say about this book. It is easy to read and enjoyable, and I liked that it had mystery in it and it was about growing up and learing about yourself and how to see the others around you. I also learned about paper towns. It wasn't a book that made me want to re read it, or couldn't put it down. At some point I was annoyed from quentin's obsetion over Margo, but maybe I was missing the point.

The investigating was much more interesting than the outcome. Which, I suppose, was Margo’s point - planning was more exciting than the adventure itself. There is nothing likable about Margo and it’s hard to understand why the world of Q is so absorbed by her and these far fetched clues she left.
