personally, i learned approx. nothing. however, it's still a good starting point for ppl just learning how to cope with their mental health. it's fantastic for his audience in particular. goes over a lot of basic concepts, but doesn't go in depth in any of them.

I initially got this book as a fan of Dan's content, but truly this book was so massively helpful for my outlook on my mental health. As someone who has struggled with my mental health for over a decade and done plenty of therapy I've gotten a lot of mental health tips and tricks, but this book really helped me understand things on a deeper level and look at things from a new perspective. Dan's funny quips thrown in made it not only informative but fun to read. I love the setup, from the overall 3 parts to the way the tips and tricks were layed out. Dan has been such a wonderful influence in my life for many years and I am truly so proud of his work here and so impressed with how incredible this book was.

A great guide to the basics of mental health: understanding it, surviving difficult times, and providing tools to develop healthy mental stuff. If you have a strong background in mental health discussions, however, it may be a bit too fundamental for you.
