I love Daniel Howell, and this book is perfect for anyone that is beginning their journey with mental health. As someone that already knew everything in the book, I didn't find it super useful, but it was nice to have a reminder about the different tools that can be used.

This would be a good book for teenagers or whoever is struggling with their mental health and wants basic but very true things you can do. There is even some science on why our minds work the way they do and how we're not built to gain our dopamine through a screen nor are we built to be be hammered by horrible news articles constantly at our finger tips.

As someone who doesn't read self help books and bought this as I watch Dan and Phil, I found this to be really useful and helpful to read for my mental health. Also, Dan's writing and humour felt like a good addition to the book.

i will 1000% be returning to this book. it was recommended to me bc i’m currently going through a major breakup and am trying to get through nights (they’re the worst rn) and this book really simplifies mental health struggles and does a really great job of breaking down immediate crisis, immediately after a crisis, and long term healing. as someone who has been in therapy for years, this book isn’t anything revolutionary BUT it has something for everyone. my favorite chapters were about mindfulness and understanding grief. i wasn’t completely finished with the book before i recommended it to 2 other people, which is a sure sign of 5 ⭐️ for me. i also loved the silliness in the epilogue in the audiobook version and the humanity and HONESTY that dan showed consistently throughout the book. so good. so real. he did a wonderful job
