I had higher hopes for this one as it’s recommended constantly. I gave it 4 stars so I definitely didn’t hate it but I sure didn’t LOVE it either. It’s a unique story but I felt like there are some gaps.

Why couldn’t Archer get the surgery to fix his voice when he got older? There was a lot that felt like foreshadowing during the story but it ended up just being the way the author was writing. There were a couple of phrases that were overused throughout and the repetition bothered me sometimes. Otherwise it was cute and unique, just not sure why so many people are in LOVE with the story.

This is a tough one for me to rate. It wasn't a bad book. I really liked Archer's character and history. Brie's wasn't bad either. The progression was just very predictable and formulaic. There was so much foreshadowing and no mystery. Travis was such a walking red flag. Around 60%, I was just ready for it to be done because I knew everything that was going to happen.

i am so confused
ive been waiting to read this for years and idk if its just because i had high expectations but this was such a let down, i liked some parts but overall the plot is all over the place and the way archer is treated at times is so infantilising
i literally hated the third act twist never mind the 3 pages where they make you think his died for some unknown reason
im glad ive read it because like now i know but glad it was on kindle unlimited and not something i actually bought :/
