I just can’t with this series. Alpha guy takes a woman based on scent as his ‘mate’. She has obvious objections which he and all his community totally ignore. Now I have read a lot of these kinds of books. Fates mates and all are a favorite trope. Not these. And I have tried to put my finger on what it is that bothers me so and it’s hard to figure out. I think it’s that the heroine has real continued objections and the hero totally ignores them. Completely ‘oh I’ll be your perfect mate when you realize it’s us forever’ but in the meantime totally ignores her concerns, objections, etc. and duh, it’s fated mate so they will have a HEA but his obliviousness does not come off as hyper alpha pushiness— but stupid not listening jerkiness.
Either the author needs to change the hero- or change the heroine. I’d almost rather be reading a TSTL heroine with body betraying etc and ‘how dumb are you!’ Yells from me to her than this ridiculousness. It’s like a rational human woman is set in the shifter world and yeah, that’s dumb.

Spicy, spicy, spicy
This was the first book I’ve read by DD Prince and it was a pretty good shifter story. I went into this book blind, as it was recommended in one of my reading groups (no I have not read book 1, because that’s not how I roll, lol). It was pretty easy to get caught up on the characters from book 1, so I don’t feel like I missed much.
The only complaint I have about this book is it’s a bit wordy, repetitive and very long for a shifter book. There were several times I saw sentences (almost word for word) repeated and that was kind of annoying, but I just started skipping, knowing it was coming.
I highly recommend if you’re looking for some decent plot and really good spice. I thought the length of the book was worth it, because you got that much more

This series is EVERYTHING!! I've been waiting on book 2 for a long time and snatched it up immediately once I realized it had been released.
Twisted is book 2 in the Savage Alpha Shifters series by D.D. Prince and focuses on Amelia and Mason's journey to a HEA. We are introduced to them in book one - Amelia is Ivy's big sister and Mason is a co-alpha within Tyson's pack.
Book 2 is a little different from book 1. In Twisted, D.D Prince dives into pack life and sets up the secondary characters with many beginning storylines. I would have liked to see more time spent with the MC's on page, just the two of them, but there was a lot to unpack and much more to come so I understand the needed subplots. What can I say... I just couldn't get enough of Amelia and Mason..

I absolutely adore this world the author created. I absolutely abhorred Amelia. She annoyed tf out of me with her insecurities and endless inner monologues of the same conflict and dilemmas. I absolutely LOVED Mason and his steadfast loyalty. I was really hoping he’d flip his lid on Amie and deliver the punishment he kept threatening…
I love the pack and the village dynamics. The supporting characters are endearing. I can’t wait for Riley’s story.
My only complaint about this shifter world is that the bite doesn’t get reciprocated, so the bond seems one-sided.

Holy furballs, Batman! D.D. Prince can write, and I mean WRITE! I started this amazing book yesterday in the late morning/early afternoon and I read until I finished it around 2:30 this morning. I did end up taking about 2 hours for an appointment that I couldn't reschedule (but that wasn't for lack of wanting to!) but other than that? My house had sandwiches at 10:30pm because A) I was too enthralled reading to remember dinner and B) I could eat with one hand and read with the other.
Y'all need to get on this one. STAT. You will love how fiery Amelia is and how sweetly over the top possessive Mason gets. And the sex? Oh good lords. Panty disintegrating. That's all I'm saying about that because I couldn't do it justice if I tried. Move Twisted to the very tip top of your TBR.

Twisted Is the second book in this series and I’ve been looking forward to this release immensely. It focuses on characters we have previously been introduced to Mason another super alpha and then Amelia who is Ivy's (who is the previous heroine) big sister. Amelia comes to town in search of her sister and what she finds is something she wasn’t unexpecting.
Mason discovers what had him so off-kilter with Ivy and her scent when he immediately recognises Amelia as his mate he then proceeds to claim her in true Caveman style. Finding Amelia is his dream come true even if she stubbornly refuses to accept their emerging bond. Yes, she’s ridiculously attracted to him but having a looming wedding and a lacklustre fiancé lurking in the background certainly puts a damper on things.
For Mason it’s black and white Amie is now his one and only he doesn’t care how this has come about either he’s immediately all in but for Amie, it’s a little more complicated. A bit of a cynic and used to putting herself last Mason seems like all of her dreams in one tasty package but knowing that her Aunt somehow purchased her a HEA makes her question everything about its authenticity. Scared to accept this slice of happiness and contentment in case it’s snatched away and experiencing extreme guilt she fights her feelings tooth and nail whilst also wanting desperately for it to be real and true. Amelia is one conflicted girl.
Amelia is basically in self-preservation mode she’s running scared from all of the intense emotions that Mason triggers in her. Mason is a complete sweetie and is definitely patience personified. He has such a protective nurturing vibe. He’s also possessive and alpha and totally besotted with his new mate.
So Mason and Amie’s chemistry together was off the charts and their intimate scenes electric. I definitely believed in their connection together and was rooting for them all the way. We also get to catch up with Ivy and Tyson which I loved and there’s an ongoing story arc with threads woven for future books.
As usual, this was well written and was such an easy read. It’s a long book which I loved but I was never once bored and this story completely consumed me grabbing me instantly. I’m now incredibly excited to read further in this series this author always delivers for me every time. I definitely recommend this and enjoyed it so much. I voluntary reviewed a copy of Twisted.

So many feels it’s hard to articulate. Mason and Amelia’s story is everything ❤️.
We start with a brief overlap looking back at some things that happened at the end of Wild and getting more insight into what was happening with Mason. Then onto what we’ve been waiting for.
Mason is seriously the perfect H. Loving, attentive and dominant. Amelia was his #1 priority from the moment he met her. His focus was unwavering and his goal was single minded. Boy did he ever need it because he had some major work cut out for him with Amelia. This man had patience like no other.
Bless Amelia, this poor girl, was easily one of the most bull headed, stubborn heroines I’ve come across. Her head was such a mess. She was so determined to sabotage her own happiness it was crazy. Mason and the life he was offering was everything she ever dreamed of but she was so afraid of being hurt she clung to her old life with a sad, exhausting desperation.
Mason was determined to guide her safely through the minefield of her mind while making her fall for him one small, sweet moment at a time. She’s a runner and he spends most of the book chasing her gleefully as he chips away at all her defenses, worries and doubts.
All the while we get these delicious moments of Amelia breaking free of her terrible fiancée and Mason standing right by her every step of the way. We get more time with Ivy and Tyson, see Ivy & Amelia’s mother find independence and happiness again and lay very exciting groundwork for the next stories in this series with Riley’s situation and a mysterious mate for Greyson I’m dying to meet.

Oh man, these shifters of Arcana Falls are becoming my favorite Alpha shifters. Mason is the perfect mixture of stubborn, bossy Alpha and sweet, thoughtful man. I loved Mason and Amelia's story and how they were able to work through their struggles as well as getting to see more of Ivy and Tyson and how their stories intertwine with each other. These are some hot shifters and I'm dying to get the stories on the rest of the council members!
