So when I finished this book I noticed my heart was beating fast, and I was upset. lol I guess I was so engrossed that my body reacted as if I were the one experiencing Eugenie's troubles. Of course she had troubles, what book is complete without fighting for your life, fighting with your boyfriend, and then steamy make up sex. The Thorn Queen is at war with the Rowan Queen because of the death of her son. His death in my opinion was well deserved, but I guess momma didn't agree. Dorian, her boyfriend, and The Oak King is allied with Eugenie against the Rowan Queen. I like Dorian, but I miss Kiyo, well I did...

Dorian shows his true colors when he sends Eugenie for the Iron Crown. She believes the difficult task of getting the crown shows her strength, and the crown itself will show her enemies she is not to be messed with. Dorian doesn't correct her (because he plotted for her to believe this in the first place) and sends her with Kiyo as back up to retrieve the crown. The crowns true powers give the owner the ability to sever the tie of the king/queen with their land, and if strong enough to take over. Eugenie retrieves the crown in hopes that the Rowan Queen will be so scared she will call a truce. She does, but only long enough to lull Eugenie into a false sense of security, then kidnaps her sister. In the end Eugenie is forced to use the crown to retrieve her sister, and takes over as Rowan Queen. She now has two places to rule, and isn't happy about that. The book ends with twins, a boy and a girl.. I won't spoil it more by telling you who is pregnant, but it's going to get interesting!

A ton happens in IRON CROWNED, good, bad, shocking and I'm so happy I picked up the first book in the series a while ago and started reading it. There might be some mild spoilers to come so read with caution as I'm not sure if I will giving anything away or not. I LOVE that Jasmine and Eugenie get closer in book 3, They are both in a tough situation and Jasmine has really grown up and out of some of her ways and I'm so glad they can now support each other. I knew Eugenie would be in the situation she is in from the beginning but I was shocked at how it actually happened. I really like Dorian and Eugenie together, I was sad at a lot of what happened in IRON CROWNED and their relationship. I can not stand Kiyo. I haven't liked him since the last book though so it isn't much of a surprise to see how much of a douche he is. I can not believe there is only one more book "planned" for the Dark Swan series. I can honestly say I have no clue what is going to happen, but I'm super excited to find out.

Phew! Richelle Mead certainly knows how to put her characters through the mill. A LOT happens in this novel, some of which made me mad with a capital "Gaaaargh!", some of which broke my heart a little. To say anymore would be entering into spoiler territory, but suffice to say that Shadow Heir has been set up beautifully and I am eager to see Eugenie's story through to the (hopefully not bitter) end.

So. Much. Yo-yo-ing. Like damn woman, take a break between guys or something if you’re confused but stop going immediately from one to the other.

It is so scary when you end up loving a series in the beginning and than the author goes and fucks it up right in the middle! There were times in the previous books where I was hating on the characters just a little, but not a lot. But this time, HOLY MOTHER OF GOD!

Eugenie, you can go and fuck yourself! I think you're so stupid and you wouldn't even know what love was if it hit you in the back of the head. You can't decide on what guy you want and you're always going back and fourth between them. When the one you're currently dating pisses you off, you go running into the other one's arms. ONE THING I HATE IS WEAK ASS HEROINES WITH NO BACKBONE!

Oh, and Kiyo, why don't you go and let a bus run you over on the side of the road?! You're the worst love interest ever! I don't understand how anyone could kill their own kids. He went freaking insane. SO YOU CAN GO FUCK YOURSELF TOO!

OH, AND DORIAN! I STILL LOVE YOU! <3333 So at this point, I don't even know if I"ll read the last book, it's a big maybe. I still like how Richelle Mead can get me so riled up, but with these stupid ass characters I'll probably end up being so damn pissed all day and I"m not letting fucking Eugenie ruin my day.

Oh ok so...., Went right into this one as well, wanting to know 'What happens next?!'. I usually get overwhelmed reading back to back books in a series, like it drags on. I didn't start feeling that way until.... Eugenie did something that pissed me off and after that it started with the dragging feeling.

I was really mad at her for switching back between guys. I mean sheesh, she could have ripped into Dorian before she jumped right back with Kiyo. In the first book, I liked Kiyo and the second had me liking Dorian but jeez woman! If she had such an issue with the dominance Dorian wanted in the bedroom, then she shouldn't have let him be that way everytime (at least balance it out!) and she should have demanded the respect for him not to do that. If she liked it that much, then don't bitch about it! She also could have demanded for any relantionship (being ally or intimate) that he commit to be up front, blatant, honest, and truthful. She always talked like it is important to her and mentioned it but never requested it of him. If she did then Dorian would come to know that games and white lies wouldn't fly or be passed off so easliy be her.
