The thing that I liked most about this story was the fact that popular girl was the protagonist in this instant, having been a big fan of Daria in LJ Shen's Pretty Reckless I knew that I was going to get the same vibe from Savannah, and this is the trope that I really enjoy and find interesting to read. We always see female protagonists getting picked on by the most popular, mean girl at school - but here we were able to read from her perspective. I love when dance is involved in stories too, I find it so interesting to read about - probably because I've always wanted to do ballet and being able to read about someone else dancing immerses me into that world again!
The only thing that I didn't particularly enjoy is how toxic Greyson was towards Savannah to begin with, it seemed he held SO much hate for her, for seemingly no reason - in fact his mother even says to him what I'm thinking whilst reading, that Savannah was literally only 10 years old like bro chill!
Anyway I really enjoyed it and am excited to read more from Clayton!

two stars for the absolute fuckery i just read.
Savannah and Grayson were super fucking close growing up, and both of them had thought they'd get married when they were older. Y'know, the usual. Now, don't get me wrong, ten year old most certainly have fake weddings and what not, i know for a fact we tried to marry my friend off to the neighborhood bully when we were eight, but this shit was just soooo far fetched.
Savannah is struggling with her double life. Her home life is a mess, but at school she pretends to be a rich and happy prep. She has her best friend Brady, who she is in a pretend relationship with, who is ALSO the only support system in her life.
Grayson is the son of a wrongly accused man, said man died in prison. He's out for blood, and who is the person at fault for his father's last days? Well, of course, it's dear ol' Savannah! Not to mind that when said father was put in jail Savannah was a 10 year old girl. Anyway, whose blood is Grayson out for? Savannah's, of course! How could you not have known?
He basically is just the meanest shit ever to her, and even though all of that is happening, we're meant to believe Savannah would ✨still love him✨. Despite the brutality of that dude, she forgives him and even falls in bed with him.
How were the smut scenes? Oh, a bit weird if I do say. They might have been consensual, but god were they weird. I'm meant to believe it's hot that a random dude gets into your shower and decides it's now time to fuck? No.
I've read quite a few bully romance novels in the past, and I may have just grown out of them, considering I haven't read one in quite a while, but bully romance novels only work if the main hero is redeemable. Grayson isn't. Sure, he stops bothering her, but, eh, no.
I'm giving this two stars only because one star seemed too harsh, considering what other books i have rated as 1 star. I know my rating may just be this low because I'm not much of a bully romance fanatic anymore, but I doubt the 2 stars are gonna do much to the overall rating.
At the end of the day, this wasn't even a fun read, and I feel like I wasted 3 hours of my life on absolute bullshit, when I could've been sleeping or, better yet, reading a book that I would actually enjoy.
