I liked it! I am bad at predicting plot twists and I certainly did not expect this one! I loved the plot twist and I loved when I realized. Howeverrrr, I gave this book a 4/5 originally but after reading a negative review my opinion changed, :( Which was my fault as I let someone sway my original opinion. But I agreed with the review, many plot points were left with holes and I wished they were filled. I really appreciated the allusion to the greek story Alecitis (I felt like I was in English class, analyzing and I really enjoyed that and missed that feeling, did not realize how much I liked English/literature class). I also lovedddd how much psychology was included in the book and the effects of childhood trauma, as this is a topic I'm really interested in. I also liked how it was both a thriller and a mystery. Honestly, I might bump this book back to a 4/5. Maybe I'll give it a 3.37/5!

this book put me through a whirlwind.
i have not read a single thriller since highschool so picking up this book brought me out of a 4 year slump.
I did not put this book down and finished it in 24 hours.
I highly reccomend this book for all readers, because it truly is unremarkable and some of the best storytelling i have ever laid my eyes on.

This book started out as a solid 4 stars. It had everything for a good summer psychological thriller - a tragic heroine, a therapist who psychoanalyses everything around him, and a massive plot twist at the end. I think it lost me with the main character, a therapist who therapizes everyone and seems aware of the childhood trauma behind his actions, yet is painfully unaware of the actual reasons. I recognize that the book intentionally makes you uncomfortable, I just didn’t enjoy it. I also wasn’t a fan of the ending but can’t explain why? It wrapped everything up neatly and it all makes sense, it was just unsatisfying to me. I see why everybody likes it though!

Easy read. I was very eager to reach the end but sad when it was over.
