While I figured most things out, the big reveal made me audibly gasp and grab out mouth! This story felt like “what would happen if Veronica never made good and just gave into the Heathers? Would Martha/Penny get revenge?” And I was so here for it!!! The multi POV’s was a bit to keep track of (I made a list of details in my phone) but it kept you guessing and never really guessing! So fun!

Interesting premise, but the multiple perspectives were confusing AF and the writing was meh. I guessed the plot twist pretty soon so it wasn’t super shocking.

Boy oh boy does this book give a new definition to mean girls! This was at times addictive, at other times it was hard to read but if you want a twisty psychological thriller, with catty behaviour and plenty of DRAMA, where everyone had several secrets up their sleeves, then you should check this one out. This would be a great summer read or a read for when it's winter and you're dreaming of a getaway to a hot island paradise. There was a lot of POVs to cycle through in this book and considering I read this via audio, it was sometimes hard to keep track who I was listening to but that being said I found the use of the past vs present timeline was done masterfully and really added to the story. Gilbert wrote some amazingly dislikable characters and I mean just wow! My heart hurt for Poppy once we find out what happened to her and I loved the twist at the end (I was hoping for this particular twist actually!). Revenge is sweet indeed.

A huge thanks to Book Club Girl and William Morrow for the gifted copy. All opinions are my own.

A fun one day read. This is a thriller/mystery.

Poppy invites the four girls who bullied her in high school to her bachelorette party. The girls are perplexed by the invite because they haven't spoken to her since (but the four of them have stayed relatively close). There were a couple of good twists and turns. I had a hard time with the POV switching because all the girls were bitches so it was hard to remember who was who. It felt like a grownup version of Pretty Little Liars 😂

There wasn’t one twist I didn’t figure out in the beginning. Predictable read.

This wasn’t very psychological or thrilling. It read like a very juvenile YA thriller. The secrets were predictable and the hen party was super lame games like spin the bottle and truth or dare. Disappointed.

I'm ngl, this was dumb. I hated the characters and it was very easy for me to not root for anyone. The writing isn't all too life-changing, but the way it's structure makes me wanna pull my hair out lol. I wanna forget this entire book. And guess what? I will. BUT the twist was the best part of the book.
