Pretty much what I expected, this book is about as subtle as a brick to the face. The plotline seemed intriguing enough, but the dialogue and story felt unrealistic and flat. Like yeah I can believe a group of women might accept an all expenses paid trip even if it was from someone they horrifically bullied and haven't spoken to in ten years, but the fact that all of them would just go along with everything that the main character expects throughout the bach trip seem far fetched.

Also, it initially seemed like the story was going to be about a friendship group that fell out, but instead it was just four women who bullied the fifth and destroyed her life. I think the story would have been a lot more intriguing and believable if they all had been friends, but with one on the margins until they eventually took it too far.

However, it got me out of my reading slump so for that I will give two stars.

I had such a fun time reading this book! All of the characters were pretty unlikeable (but like, in a good way? I didn’t hate that in this book), I guessed the twists pretty much (but still loved them) and overall just had a good time. Couldn’t put it down! Excited to see what this author comes out with next ☺️

it was fun, a few things kind of rubbed me the wrong way. i was also able to guess the ending ahead of time. i like the premise, but again, something’s just rubbed me wrong. check content warnings before reading!

I really enjoyed this one, but it was pretty obvious and predictable which lost a star for me.

I was also really annoyed at how these women got lured to the island in the first place. Like a girl you tormented and were clearly not friends with AND haven't even spoken to in 10 years invites you to be her bridesmaids and not one of these women thought that was really weird and random? Even if I got a free trip out of it, I would be like mmmm no thanks.

"She started it" reads like a gossip column. I saw the ending coming from Poppy's first diary entry. Predictable and Gossipy.

“She Started It” was a great way to pull me out of the reading slump I’d fallen into. I thought it was fun and fast paced mystery thriller with a ton of mean girl drama, which made for a fairly enjoyable read. I will say that it was a bit predictable, the characters felt a little flat, and you have to suspend belief a little to make the ending fit, but overall I found it to be a quick and entertaining read that was perfect for a short road trip.

Meh. It was intriguing at first but I quickly got annoyed with all the characters and easily predicted the path of the book.

I could not put this one down!! The author did an excellent job making most of the character so unlikeable. The flipping between narrators threw me off a little but overall I really enjoyed this book!

Not too much to say about this one. It was entirely too predictable. It kept my attention and it was a fun read, but the plot (for the most part) was too easy to guess. The ending did have a good twist and I think is what saved it.
