FINALLY!!! We all have been waiting patiently (or NOT) for B&S2 since the moment we finished B&S1!!! And it was absolutely worth the wait!!! If I could give this book 6 stars I would because WOW, it is just… everything you hope it will be and so much more!
"He was the only one who understood because he was the only one who loved Ethan as much as I did."
At the end of B&S1 Alex is about to leave for college, which also happens to be the same school Jesse attends. She has become pissed at the world since her parents and friends abandoned her. And on top of all of that she wants answers to all the questions she now has about her brothers death. So her first stop when she arrives at school is to Jesse's house to get some answers!
But once she finds Jesse she realizes that things are not always as they seem. Their chemistry has not faded (at all) and soon is heating up even more than before. They are back to sneaking around to be with each other because Alex doesn't think she is ready to be Jesse's girlfriend. He is royalty on campus and she doesn't know if she is strong enough to deal with everyone knowing about them yet. But Jesse is all in and never wants to be without her again!
"You were my fucking sanctuary, that's what you were to me. You were my guilty indulgence. I should've stayed away from you, but I couldn't. I still can't. Jeezus. Look at me. I'm damn near on my knees here."
Jesse also realizes that before they can move forward there are things Alex needs to know about her family and her brother, and he has no idea how she will handle it. For Alex though, she is just tired of being hurt and is scared to lean on Jesse because he may leave her too when he finds out about her parents and how broken she truly is.
"Was it too much to hope that he wouldn't leave when he realized how broken and screwed up I was?"
I am so thankful to finally have this book! It helped me heal my heartache from B&S1 and filled in the blanks to all of my questions. You will understand so much more and be like "oh ok " when you see how everything from book 1 falls into place in book 2. I couldn't have been happier with B&S2, there is not one thing I would change! Jesse proved he deserves and loves Alex, and Alex learns that she is not alone and together they heal each other! There are not enough words to explain how much I LOVE TIJAN and I LOVE B&S2!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE, there are just no other words absolutely speechless!

**Reread 2024**
I keep coming back to this book because of the secret relationship aspect. I love when people try to bully the FMC especially about how the MMC is out of her league or something while the truth is she's already in a relationship with him. I love that he's so elusive and untouchable to everyone except her.
And those parts when Jesse kinda begged "I want to go public". I love it! He's the one who wanted to stop hiding that they're together and claim her.
And that time when he was worried, asking if he did something wrong. I loved the vulnerability when he was so cold in the first book.
I hate the stuff about Ethan and his secret. Also, the shit with the parents. And the former friends, Angie and Marissa.
I suspect that I will keep rereading this in the future when I'm craving the hit of the famous guy in a secret relationship with the nobody/weirdo. Lol

I love Jesse! I still hate the parts when the heroine breaks down and goes crazy because I don't quite get that overreaction. Huh.

So after my review from Broken and Screwed 1, I want to make it know that this cover is much better! I completely approve on this one! Book 2 picked up right where book 1 left off!
You get a lot more of Alex and Jesse, but now you also have college girls vying for Jesse's attention and they don't care how they get it. This book really shows the strength between Alex and Jesse's relationship and how it only grows from there, but will it last once Alex really finds out the truth behind Ethan's death and the secret Jesse is hiding from her?
Great way to end a series! I know Tijan has been asked if there will be another Broken and Screwed, but I don't think there needs to be! This was a great ending. Honestly, if Tijan does come out with a third book to this series, I don't know if I will read it just because I am content with the way this ended. What else would Tijan go into? Life after college? I feel like that will stretch out a series, but can also make it boring if there isn't a good enough story line. My opinion - leave well enough alone and keep this the last BS book.

Tijan once again ceases to amaze me with this book.
I was an absolute emotional wreck while reading this book. One second I was happy, then crying, then laughing, then sighing in frustration, even more crying, angry, and finally happy.
Shits better than a soap opera.

You were my fucking sanctuary, that’s what you were to me. You were my guilty indulgence. I should’ve stayed away from you, but I couldn’t. I still can’t. Jeezus. Look at me. I’m damn near on my knees here.
So. This was hot. I've been re-reading Tijan books in one sitting, because I'm just in the mood for some angsty romance and this is just that. Tijan writes the best fucked-up-main-character-and-hot-brooding-male romance and I love it. I read these books in one setting, they're just that addictive. I upped my rating for this book from 4 to 5 stars. I don't even know why I only gave it 4 stars in the first place. This is once of my favourite contemporary books and I loved it even more the second time around (well obviously, since the rating went up, but whatever). I loved Jesse and Alex, and how it all came together. I also really liked that Alex finally met some friends who were not constantly trying to screw her over or backstab her. Jesse was sweet in this book, showing his love for Alex a bit more every time, supporting her through all the issues she had to work through and being protective and just cute about her. I was a bit annoyed with Alex at times, but in a sense that made her realistic. Of course someone is going to be fucked up after losing their brother and being dumped by their parents. It doesn't just magically go away. She did not act like the special perfect virgin girl who is going to magically change the brooding angry love interest, like most main characters in the contemporaries I've read. So yeah, great book if you're looking for a hot angsty romance. I'm going to continue my Tijan binge for sure.
