And a majority of the books in this series are either a hit or miss for me, and here's a case when I just lost interest and didn't really care.
I'm sticking with this series, but since I started it I might as well finish it or at least try to.

I like a good thriller, and this one hit all the high notes. The plot and characters were interesting (enough), the bad guys compelling, the mystery mysterious, and the protagonist likeable. I liked that Reacher was fairly reasonable while also being hardcore (I know, but I like my heroes polite and friendly). Overall, an an enjoyable new (to me) series.
Jack Reacher is an interesting character. Even though this was apparently the 9th book in a series, it was the first one I read. I didn't really feel too lost but I'm sure I would have enjoyed the book more if I knew more of the backstory.
Reacher is a typical 'tough guy' hero who knows all kinds of interesting and useful things that you wonder how he learned, handles any situation with relative ease, and doesn't get too bogged down in feelings.
The book was enjoyable... a nice popcorn read. The plot was actually very good and the other characters weren't bad, considering most of them will probably never be seen again. I'm at least curious enough to read another Reacher book.

I really enjoyed this book! Jack Reacher is more than a cookie cutter "honorable hero" but a complex, fully-formed character. The book was exciting and kept me turning the pages. Let's put it this way: my sleep suffered while I was reading this.
Whenever I want a good, fast-paced, action packed page turner, I grab a Reacher. This one definitely met all my expectations.
As always I love me some Jack reacher. I think lee child just gets better and better as this was one of his better ones. A lone gunman takes out 5 people in southern Indiana. Jack reacher comes to town to work on the case. As usual trouble finds him. Quality kills just like we like.

This is the 9th book in the Jack Reacher series; though you do not need to read them in order of publication - I certainly haven’t been
The narrator for this one is Dick Hill - who I’d say is my fave Reacher narrator. His voice for Reacher is great, as are his voices for the other characters including the females
As excepted it is a slow burn crime thriller featuring many twists and turns, with the last handful of chapters being fast paced and action packed as Reacher solves the mystery and delivers justice. He is the same badass you expect if you’ve read any of the other books. As is the featured female character(s); I love that Reacher is 6’5 and 250lbs, but that Lee Child doesn’t use his burly-ness to write meek female supporting characters
And you don’t leave a Reacher novel behind without learning a little something - like how to fool night vision/thermal imaging… at least temporarily. And how to keep your pants pressed when they’re the only ones you own lol
I recommend these books if you’re looking for a crime thriller.
