Six Crimson Cranes

Oh. My. Gods.

Six Crimson Cranes is officially one of my favourite books EVER. I devoured this masterpiece in 3 days (which is great for me not going to lie). Elizabeth Lim has stolen her way into my heart and onto my list of favourite authors. I absolutely cannot wait to read the sequel, The Dragon's Promise, and her other works.

Six Crimson Cranes tells the story of Princess Shiori'anma from the kingdom of Kiata. Kiata is known for not having magic, or at least not tolerating it. But the princess carries some magic in her nonetheless. Everything gets out of hand on the day Shiori is to meet her betrothed, and she and her 6 brothers get cursed by their stepmother. The princes are turned into cranes, and Shiori is cursed into being unrecognisable by wearing a bowl on her head. She also cannot make a sound, or one of her brothers will die.

That was a very brief (and honestly terrible) description of the plot in Six Crimson Cranes. I cannot express enough how much I loved this booked. It's been a while since I had this much trouble putting a book down. My eyes were glued to the pages from start to ending. The writing was so good! It's such an easy read, the pacing is incredible.

If I could give this book 6 stars, I would, but sadly I can't (take notes, Goodreads).

Seryu >>>>>>>>>> Takkan

The whole time I just wanted Seryu to appear more and Takkan to appear less, thankfully this is what will happen in the second book.

Solid read, and I love a fairy tale redo as well as the resolution with the step mother, but I don't really feel compelled to continue reading the series

Este libro me encantó ,tiene de todo aventura, magia ,una historia que te atrapa y una protagonista a la altura .

This was the best book I've read in a while! The MC was both believable and inspiring. I loved that there was more to the plot than just a romantic interest, the book was about family and growing up too. Also the fantasy elements were super creative and very clear to follow. I would give this book more stars if I could.

DID NOT FINISH: 0%

I thought I would like this book, but it is just not that good. None of the characters are developed well, and the story isn't engaging enough for me to read any further.
