This tongue in cheek book kept me snickering and with a constant smile. I stumbled upon this novel and have now considered adding more to my TBR.

Ms. Harper has a wildly sarcastic sense of humor that is very inline with my own.

I had a blast following Iris and Cal through the unique adventure. I loved the chapter heading tips and feel like perhaps I need to buy the book they come from.

I love Molly Harper. A fellow Buffy fan, I am almost forced to like her! But I also like her writing. It is witty, funny, and she really gets her women characters.

I won't give anything away, so no plot spoilers, but the ending of this book was not predictable; which I really enjoyed. The characters were great, from the teenager Gigi to the ancient Cletus (ha!). I loved the relationship dynamis between Cal and Iris, very funny and you could feel the connection/passion.

Cannot wait for the next one!

If you’re looking for a light funny urban fantasy with vampires, this might be the series for you.

Well I laughed my ass off again! You gotta love Molly Harper and her ability to give you a good laugh and a cute story. Always recommend her and this one is no different. I listen to her books, but I'm gonna have to try and read one to see if they are as funny.

Oh lord. I have not read the Jane Jameson series but now I will because I laughed so hard through this whole thing. Decent mystery. Better relationship shenanigans. So hilarious.

I like a book with a sense of humor, and this one hits the mark. Banter between all the characters is well-done throughout the book. So many laugh-out-loud moments, and a few great tongue-in-cheek references to traditional urban fantasy tropes.

The male lead was a nice change of pace from other soft erotica - not only sexy and good-looking, but also an interesting *person*. The female lead was strong and competent, able to save herself and work in concert with the male lead to accomplish plot goals. No simpering "but what if he doesn't love me" ladies here.

Overall, the book is highly enjoyable. The only oddity is a handful of continuity errors. For example, he removes her bra, but he hasn't removed her shirt. Not entirely impossible right? But then he's sucking on her nipples, and I'm like -- but wait -- what about the shirt? And then a page later, she tugs her shirt off. Hrm. There's at least two other instances of errors like this in the book, which is unfortunate for an otherwise entertaining read.

Also, oddly, the female lead whacks her head on something in both major sex scenes. I suppose this was meant to illustrate to intensity of the encounter, but I found it pulled me out of the moment. Pleasure and pain can certainly be erotic when done right, but just whacking your head on walls and benches? Just makes me say "ow".

Even with the continuity errors & head-whacking, I recommend it - I burned my way through it in one evening. Good times.

I loved Iris, she was strong, fierce, hilarious, and caring. She is one of the greatest character's I've ever read and paired with Cal, who was trying to keep from caring about Iris and her sister, Gigi, and failing miserably, made the book stand out and shine. This is a wonderful read and I highly recommend it!!

The Care and Feeding of Stray Vampires is another fun romp in the world of Jane Jameson. It should have come before Driving Mr. Dead.

Iris Scanlon owns and runs a concierge service for vampires. She takes care of the errands that need to be during daylight hours. She also is raising her younger sister a high school senior. Her number one rule is to never get involved with her vampire clients. But rules are made to be broken.

Molly Harper manages to mix a good mystery with a lot of fun. I heartily recommend all of Ms. Harpers books. I’ve yet to find one that I haven’t laughed my way through.
