I am reviewing this a month or two after reading it and there was just nothing memorable about this book. Upon finishing it I was going to give it 2 stars for being meh at best and very boring at worst. But after letting this review settle for a few months (aka: I got behind on reviews), I will be demoting it even further to one star.

There were no stand out characters for me to root for or enjoy. I think the key to doing a SW book that focuses on characters we don't know is to have a strong writer that can get us invested in the characters and their actions. This book did not do that. In fact, I don't even remember a single name from this book. What I do remember is enjoying the Sith characters, but not nearly as much as in other stories. Darth Chratis sleeps in what is basically a coffin, which is very edge lord of him...that was the only thing I took away from this book.

Perhaps readers with different tastes from me might enjoy this. Maybe if you like a bit more family drama? All I can say is that this book just wasn't it for me.

As much as I read others dislike of the EU in other reviews, I really enjoy the novels in the Legends series. I find they give the reader a much larger grasp of the inner workings of the Jedi, Sith, Republic, and Empire. It’s also very interesting to see both sides working together to fight a common enemy. Another great read for an avid Star Wars fan!

It was quite the adventure to get through. My one complaint is the writing style got a tad redundant sometimes, with POV switches resummarizing stuff that happened a page ago. Otherwise very fun

Pretty good book, to be honest i'm not sure what the point of it is in the star wars universe. Though it is a good read.

I enjoyed this.

I found it a bit hard to get into at first - the beginning is a bit boring and nothing noteworthy. I don't even really remember what happened. It picks up though after all the characters join together. I liked how the characters developed and the plot twists that I didn't see coming.

It kept me hooked and interested, and has given me some good background into the Old Republic.

Mark Thompson's reading of this book really made this story so much more fun for me to listen to with his different voices--especially enjoyed Jet Nebula's Aussie accent, as well as some of the sound effects like behind masks as in the case as the bounty hunter Dao Stryver, combined with the other musical type effects added to this production. Typically I find the "production" type audiobooks annoying, but not with this book. Storywise, I would have enjoyed a little more character development, but it seemed that the focus was more on the action this time. Still, all in all, this was a very fun listen.

Please skip this book, unless multiple POV and garbled storytelling is your thing.
