Wendy Cedar is an intern at an aerospace engineering company, and she totally has the hots for her new boss Janet Lace. Despite her cool outward demeanor, Janet also has her eye on Wendy, and when she comes across an email sent by Wendy describing a sex dream starring her, Janet decides to act on their mutual attraction.

So the blurb is what made me pick up this book. It seemed like a fun premise, and it ended up being a fun story. Although, warning: the email doesn't actually play a large role in the plot.

The reason this book doesn't get great ratings from me is because the tone throughout the book was so confusing for me. Yes, I get that it's supposed to be a rom-com, but a lot of the writing was just bizarre. There seemed to be many random jumps in plot. The characters perceptions of each other were so off that it was disorienting to switch between perspectives, because it was like seeing a whole new Wendy or a totally different Janet. The conversation and banter was very random, for lack of a better word. There were so many pop culture references thrown in with excerpts from a book on fighter jets - wtf. (Needless to say, I skipped over those passages.)

I skimmed a lot, and the only reason why I still rounded this up to 3 stars is because the plot was interesting. That, and at least Wendy's character is likable. But seriously, I totally missed the part where Wendy and Janet fall for each other. It's like they go from "I wanna f--- you" to "I love you." The sex scenes were hot though, I'll give it that.

If you're willing to dig through a lot of excess to get to a decent story, then give this book a try. It was decent and entertaining enough, I just wish a lot of the not-so-great parts could have been cleared away and replaced with better dialogue and more plot development.

Hoo baby this is my shit. Most books that do bdsm tend to go all-in on the lifestyle and kink scene, but this is just two people casually exploring some kinky stuff they're into, and I really dug that. But also boy these sex scenes are hot. I had to stop reading this at work because it was too much.

I was all set to give this five stars until the kind of sudden conflict near the end, but I still really really liked it.

I really wanted to love this book sinceI love age-gap romances and witty humor. But honestly this was a miss for me. Don’t get me wrong, I found Wendy to be really funny and likable but the holes in the plot made it a difficult book for me to really enjoy. I kept reading because I was curious about how this train wreck would play out since I didn’t find any chemistry between Wendy and Janet. That sizzle that I love so much was just totally absent. The reason I’m giving this 3 stars is because I laughed out loud on multiple occasions which is the sign of a good writer otherwise the stars would be less.

Thanks to NetGalley and Ylva Publishing for the digital galley of this book.

Wendy Cedar has a massive crush on her boss, the older Janet Lace. Janet has just gone through a divorce and isn’t looking for anything romantic, which is fine until she discovers a letter Wendy wrote, detailing all the non-coworker things Wendy wants to do to her. Getting called to the boss’ office turns into a no-strings-attached affair, but when casual sex becomes something more (and secrets are revealed), they’ll have to make some decisions about where their relationship is headed.

I was expecting this one to be a romance, but whoa I wasn’t expecting all that! It was a fun ride. I don’t really know much about planes, so I thought all the research that went into the technical aspects of the characters’ jobs was interesting. It’s a workplace romance (boss/employee) and age gap (my fav), and I tore through it. If you need something fun to alleviate some of the pressure of the holiday season (and Q4 for all you stressed, corporate girlies), this one is fun. Plus, the title makes me laugh, and It was hilarious to hit those extra spicy scenes while standing in line at Joann to get my fabric cut.

The pacing of this book is really odd. It’s advertised as if it’s an erotica but they barely have sex, and the sex they do have is mind-blowingly underwhelming. Wendy is possibly the most annoying lesfic character I’ve ever encountered, she turns every situation into an unfunny joke. Every time things even *begin* to get steamy she ruins it with a lame joke or one-liner. Millennial humor at its peak. The cherry on top of this whole ordeal is that they work for a weapons manufacturer for the US military. Yay. Also Wendy is one of those rich people who doesn’t use her connections or generational wealth and it’s really, incredibly, eye-roll inducing. Janet is arguably the more likable one but her development was barely development and the ending was rushed. I forced myself to get through the last 15%. Do not read this.
