A capa é meio que um desserviço, convenhamos, é muito feia e se fosse só por ela provavelmente nunca leria. Felizmente uma amiga leu e amou (Kesia, obrigadaa). E que bom que decidi ler, meu deus, fiquei tão viciada que li em um dia. Que perfeição!
Char e Renner são muito perfeitos. E ele com certeza é um 10/10 na escala Mr. Darcy, que protagonista perfeito! O rolê da viagem no tempo é muito legal e bem inserido na história. Odiei a Kassie e achei a Char super tonta por não perceber o quanto a amizade era bem tóxica.
Talves o meu amor pela história tenha sido um pouco de identificação com a Char. Quando era adolescente era bem daquele jeito: controladora, preocupada demais com o futuro, garota prodígio que sofria para manter sempre as expectativas de todos e as vezes sofria em silêncio por não se sentir boa o suficiente, bem a síndrome do impostor (que infelizmente me acompanha até hoje), problemas paternos, insegura, crush no atleta legal da escola (felizmente namorava com ele), vice-presidente do grêmio... Muitas coincidências! Só sei que me vi nela e entendi muitas coisas.
Assim como ela também não mudaria nada da minha jornada até os 30, sou do time que acha que tudo o que vivi serviram para moldar o meu caráter e, apesar dos pesares, gosto do que me tornei. Enfim, um livro "bobo", mas para mim tão cheio de nuances e significados. Tinha ficado com dúvidas se favoritava, mas a dúvida passou.
Senti falta de um epílogo, sabe. Mostrando se as coisas realmente ficaram bem no futuro e tals. Se tivesse isso seria mais que perfeito! Nem sei mais o que dizer, só sei que amei muito.

It was a good coming of age book, with unexpected twists. It made it more appealing to me that young lit normally does as half of the book was in their thirties. Even thought the ugly duckling hating the popular hot gut even though he's in love with her is a bit tired, I enjoyed the book. One of the very few young adult lit current reads that doesn't incorporate cringey dialog to make it relatable to young people.

Like the other books I’ve read from the Mindy Kaling Book Studio, this was a nice palate cleanser of a read. This book is the Gen Z equivalent of “13 Going on 30” where a high school senior (and her arch nemesis) fast-forward from their senior year of high school to age 30 and quickly have to understand a new way a life being a mid-aged adult.
It’s an endearing novel that gives you nostalgia for all the heightened feelings that come with being high school aged and the pomp and circumstance around prom. It’s really corny but a pleasant read if you are looking for a quick and light-hearted read.

Really fun lite, teen rom-com. Just what I needed - a sweet quick read. I got emotionally invested, for sure.

It was fun and lighthearted. I greatly enjoy it. Although the premise of time-travel is non-realistic, I like how realistic Char was. Her feelings, her predicaments, and insecurities. It's something we all go through. I love Renner too. He's fun, charming, and a nice dude overall. They're good together.
This novel was essentially 13 going on 30, but with two high school rivals who in the future are engaged. It was sweet and well-written—many romcom references including Dirty Dancing which I appreciated.
