This book is so much fun and entertaining! I love the characters, pace, flow and story.

The first third or so was a bit rough to get into, but when everything clicked into place I was in it until the end.

A great start to an exciting new series! Sullivan has created a rich world with well developed characters. There is a good balance between strong female and male characters, so the story should appeal to a wide audience. I look forward to the rest of the series!

I have mixed feelings about this book but overall they are positive. The start was painfully slow for me. And by the start I mean I wasn’t very into the book until 50%. Then it really grabbed me and I loved it. Then towards the end it lost me again. And finally, at the end I liked it a lot again.

There’s nothing inherently bad in this book. I just found it a little boring sometimes. I don’t think it helps that I didn’t realise it was quite Celtic fantasy, as I would describe. It’s tribes and chiefs rather than kingdoms and monarchs. It’s nice to branch out from my comfort zone though.

I thought the humans were just that, humans. And I’m not super interested. The elves seem a lot cooler, I like the strangeness that comes about because they live so long.

I really enjoyed the interactions between the main characters. The banter often has a dry wit to it that I love. There’s a lot of quite funny lines. Honestly all of the main characters were good. I love weird little feral child Suri. The main villain was a bit of a generic evil but I don’t care all that much.

Annoying characters were done so well it genuinely made me angry. Like when Persephone is basically gaslit and stopped from doing what was clearly the best and most sensible things, I was genuinely feeling her outrage.

I’ll probably add to this later but yeah. I enjoyed and will probably continue in the series but I’m not in a huge rush to do so.

This is my first adult epic fantasy series and I'm officially in love.

A world filled with Frey, runes, goblins, mystics, bears and wolves. The world was rich and filled with wonder. This multiple POV epic fantasy is a great book for a beginner wanting to get into the adult fantasy genre. This is the first book I've read by Michael J Sullivan. I was tossing up whether to read his works chronologically or by publication. And to be honest I think it's ok to start here, if not I will change this review once I've completed the Riyria Revelations.

I won't dive too much into the details. Just a friend suggested the series said, "Just read it, you won't regret it". She doesn't realise how right she was, the less you know the more enjoyable this series is

Great world, interesting self contained story and a worthy goodreads book of the year finalist for 2016. Can't wait for the rest of the series.

I've read a bit of it and am very intrigued. The book so far is interesting and I just wanted to put my thoughts here about the sample. The characters drew me in, and the world is very imaginative. I hope to obtain a full copy soon so I can see what happens.

DNF
(Gave it a 3.5 star rating, which may change, because I did really enjoy the world the author created)

Oh, how I really wanted to enjoy this one. The idea, the premise of it, really pulled me in and captured my attention. However, being in a bit of a major book rut, I haven't been able to enjoy books I know I would probably enjoy. Age of Myth is definitely a book I know I would enjoy, if I had the time to read and in the mood. Sadly, I just haven't been. Starting it, I was taken by the work the author created. Imaginative and beautifully written, I did love the world and the characters that were introduced. The book is very reminiscent of Lord of the Rings (pretty much any fantasy within that category), but the book did hold a very unique air that I did like. However, I just couldn't get far into the book, sadly. I'm hoping if I just put it down and wait, I can pick it back up , give it another try because I really want to. Definitely recommend this one to fantasy lovers out there!

I am enjoying this world, though I’m not so attached to the characters.
