Maybe 2.5 stars? I didn’t hate this book by any means, but it just didn’t really do much for me, personally. I found the plot/twists to be predictable but I do read a lot of thriller, so maybe that’s on me.
I think enjoyed the pace and found it to be a quick, fun read. I also find it fun to learn that it’s a take on Jane Eyre which I didn’t realize going into the read.
I’m curious what the rest of my bookclub will think!

I thought this was a pretty good thriller—I thought the premise was interesting as were the characters, I think the ending could have been better and I would have loved to see an epilogue featuring two certain characters but I’m sure each reader comes up with their own ending.
I’d suggest this for anyone looking for a classic domestic thriller that they can get through in a few days.

I didn’t have high hopes for this book, as I didn’t really care for Reckless Girls by this author, but I ended up really enjoying this book! It was a fast paced thriller - I read it in only 2 days. Part love story, part murder story, a good ending, I definitely recommend this book. Jane is running from her past and becomes a dog walker in a wealthy neighborhood where she meets a wealthy man whose wife and best friend mysteriously disappeared and were presumed dead. Once Jane moves in with this man, she discovers secrets that reveal the real truth of what happened. The story was a bit predictable but still good.

Excellent Southern gothic - would've liked a little bit more hutzpah from Jane, but still a nice twist on Jane Eyre.
Finished this in one sitting because I had a lot of fun reading it and it was a nice distraction!
Loved this book! A subtle feminist message yet such a twisted story! Loved!
