Took me two days to finish, couldn’t put it down!
Jane is running away from her past when she finds herself working as a dog walker in a fancy, gated community. There she meets Eddie, a recently widow through his wife's tragic, if mysterious, death. Of course, they begin a relationship - and only once she's living with him does Jane start to think things might not be as they seem...
Sometimes thrillers are a bit of a wave for me - depending on when I read them & if I've read a really good one shortly beforehand, I can be less impressed than I might be at other times. There's nothing about this book that I can pin point as being less exciting - it was twisty, I didn't guess the ending - but I wasn't as into it as I have been with other thrillers. Still think it's worth the read!

Meh...easy, quick to read thriller. Predictable twists; but, out of my reading slump?
I enjoyed reading it, but the ending was kinda unsatisfactory.
What a page turner!! The ending went fast. But was a great, suspenseful read!
Unmet expectations
I’m not sure exactly what I was hoping for with this book since I love Jane Eyre so much, but this wasn’t it. It was definitely filled with modern twists on Bronte’s work and piqued my interest the further in I got, but I was underwhelmed by the ending and felt it left a lot to be desired at the conclusion. In some ways that matches up with its inspiration, but I felt like I should have more connection to the characters that I simply didn’t, even by the end. 3 stars for piquing my interest and making me want to reread the classic again, though.

More of a romantic comedy, very little "thriller" vibes in my opinion. Read this right after I read the Heiress. Slower paced, & predictable in my opinion!
dark
This wasn't really anything special, unfortunately.
A very down the line thriller retelling of Jane Eyre that misses the character depth and atmosphere of the original.
It was sort of a cross between Jane Eyre and Big Little Lies but more predictable.
