I can't remember the last time I laughed out loud this much to a comic book. I enjoyed seeing a few milestones and strange moments in Adrian Tomine's career, the unsurprising drudgery of it all. All the stuff that *isn't* making art. I can't believe anyone can make a career work as a cartoonist, so it was kind of inspiring to see him thrive in spite of it. The Moleskin notebook presentation was a nice touch.

Breezy, funny, and bracingly honest My first foray into Tomine's work and I enjoyed it. I would read more. I don't read graphic novels often but this one made me want to read more as well.

I simply adored this. This is a such a funny, surprisingly open kinda cringe/fail collection of stories about the author, I can't believe the things that have happened to him. I laughed out loud reading a lot of this. I have been staff at a comic book store where an comic artist was signing and I know exactly how painful it can be lmao very relatable stuff in here and just so honest I really appreciate it.

The art is really nice, the biggest highlight in the novel for me! honestly I think the way the author draws himself is super cute lol Just the way he draws people in general is really charming to me. I love how everything leads up to the insightful final chapter. Really inspiring stuff, this is exactly the kind of work that makes me love comics so much.

Este hombre se ha abierto en canal y ha ofrecido un retrato tan honesto y real de su persona que te deja tocado.

Incredibly funny and self-aware in exactly the right tenor, unafraid of making yourself appear foolish. I think a key element of memoir is being willing to laugh at yourself, which is maybe why I'll never write one.

Well honed comedic self deprecating critique of the world of a graphic novelist. The drawings easily pass unnoticed. The internal dialogue is perfect.

I wish the author let himself go a little more, when he does there is something of magic.
