I love the Lovewell Lumberjacks series because each book is trying to solve an overarching crime and we are getting so close to finding out all the answers. I assume that will happen in the next book which will focus on the final Gagnon sibling Adele. However this book was about the grumpy finance brother Pascal.
Pascal moved away from Lovewell for college and barely looked back until his father died, now he is back to help save the family company and do what he can to solve the mystery of his father’s death. Enter Parker. She and Pascal worked “together” a few years ago and Pascal knows she is the one to help solve this case.
When Parker agrees to help, they decide their cover story will be that she is Pascal’s girlfriend. I love a fake relationship! The two could not be more different but they fit together so perfectly. I loved their banter and when they finally broke it was

loved it!
I was pleasantly surprised with this one! For some reason I wasn’t sure about it when I started… thinking it might be cheesy or something but Daphne got me good! It was such a great fake dating story, and I loved the mystery twists to it! I haven’t read a mystery in a while so it was refreshing and suspenseful! I’m excited to read about the rest of the family now… Especially spitfire Adele! I definitely recommend 10/10!

I went into this, with Paz being my least favourite sibling and came out with him as my favourite.
Of the brothers so far, he had the most growth and character development.
Parker was brilliant, she is fierce and sassy and someone I'd love to be friends with!
The larger overall plot (that spans the whole series) progresses quite drastically and had me hooked!

"A gunshot didn’t take me out, but having to live a single day without you might.”
I have been loving this series and the suspense that continues from one book to the next makes them so addicting! This is the third book of the Lowell Lumberjacks - Pascal hires Parkers to look more into his fathers death, she doesnt want to take the job at first because of their past but finally agrees to come to Lowell to investigate. Parker was so strong and wouldnt give up, she was so commited and dedicated to getting to the bottom of what happened, love a strong FMC! Im gonna be honest i went into this book not like Pascal after everything with Remy but by the end of this book you see the kind of man he truly is adn why he is the way he is. They slowly broke down each others walls and fell so hard for each other❤️
“You saved my life,”
“You saved mine first,”
The fake dating and forced proximity was fanatastic especially once the spice finally started, this book was definitely more focused on the suspense and mystery more than the previous two which i really enjoyed! i have to say the last third of my book was my favorite and made it really hard to put down! These two had the best banter and i loved seeing their relationship grow and the bonus epilogue was just perfection
“But I’m a planner. And the thought of not having you every single day for the rest of my life is literally driving me crazy.”
