In 2016, Anne-Lise is staying in a seaside hotel in Brittany, France, when she finds a manuscript in a drawer. It's a love story, and a very good one. When she finishes reading it, she sends it to an learn that he lost the manuscript 30 years ago in Montreal. Anne-Lise is determined to find out how the manuscript made its way to Brittany and where it had been all those years. During the course of the investigation, she makes new friends and finds out how the manuscript has touched all those who came in contact with it over the years. Written as a series of letters, between various writers, it was a little difficult to keep track of who was who and what was what. I did have to go back, pay closer attention and make notes. Requires a little work, but it's a good read.
Loved this book. And I really want to start writing letters!
It was a good book! Not typically something I’d pick up, but I got it at an estate sale and it interested me. Overall it was great.

Epistolary, flawed characters, messy lives, interesting how the story unfolded. French accent for audiobook. Nice if you like accents, not so nice if you have no idea what places they are saying - would be easier to understand in print. I think many people will like this book, thought it’s only a 3 star for me.

An inspiring book written as letters showing just how life can be connected by the written word. Whether its the lost manuscript that gives the book its name or the correspondence that harkens back to a simpler time, the author connects its various characters both past and present into a pleasant tale that can easily inspire the reader the way the fictional work did.

I read this in just a few hours - it's really good! The format uses letters back and forth as the characters try to solve the mystery of a found manuscript. What I liked the most was that the "chapters" (letters) aren't long and drawn out. The letters are generally only a page or two which definitely holds your interest. I couldn't read fast enough to see who was it that finished the manuscript! Great book, great storyline!
