I don't normally read sci fi, especially if it was written 25 hears ago. I liked all the stories, considering all the megative stuff (bland characters, repetitive plot points). Maybe I liked it because I'm not that well versed in the genre. Won't be reading any more from this author/genre.

Didn't leave an impression but entertaining and original voice.

Solid collection of short stories. To me, unfortunately, they only had big universe altering implications. I guess I just wanted some that did not involve the destruction of Earth or the human race. That being said, the stories were mostly all good. I did like that a couple involved advanced civilizations digging versus reaching to the farthest reaches of space. It was a good break from the same sci-fi tropes.

The book being short stories, it took me a little while to read the book. I would read a story, move on to another book for a little bit, read another story, etc. However, I found that I could remember all of the stories in the end. Even the subpar stories were memorable.

Only giving it 4 stars because of the couple of subpar stories, overall the book is a great read for any Cixin Liu fan, or any sci-fi fan in general.

The first short story "The Wandering Earth" was easily my favorite. I can't wait to watch the Netflix movie! A couple other stories like "Bubble World" were also really enjoyable for me, but honestly I was disappointed by a lot of these stories. Some of them were so short that there really was nothing to the story and I felt like I needed more, or they were just way to weird and far-fetched. "Curse 5.0" could have been really good but I was missing the depth of the plot since it was so short.
I could read an entire full length book on "The Wandering Earth" story and honestly that's what I rather would have wished this book to be. This story was easily a 4-5 star story, but the lack of interest in the other stories really brought down the rating.
