Absolutely F*%#ing stunning! I was literally laugh crying at the end of this book. It made me so incredibly happy. It has its share of ups and downs for swoon worthy Nick and sassy snarky Mina. I loved every minute of it. Well done Maria Luis!!!!đź’•

This book is super cute but I wouldn't really call it a fake dating book, that aspect if the story seemed lackluster, but Nick and Ermione's relationship is adorable

I’m going to start by saying my biggest annoyance of this book might not actually matter to anyone else. But here’s what bothered me:

It is made into a HUGE deal at the beginning how Mina and Nick can’t possibly work because they want different things in life - namely Nick wants kids and to be married and Mina doesn’t.

Look I GET changing your mind on relationships if you find the right person. BUT it’s MUCH more difficult to just “all of a sudden want kids.” Did that happen to Mina though? WHO THE HELL KNOWS BECAUSE THEY DONT TELL US. Legit the book ends and you still don’t know where they stand on kids, which is one of the ONLY things in my opinion that people need to agree on going into a marriage.

I THINK the author was trying to IMPLY she’ll want kids because the reason (I don’t know if this was her reason, it wasn’t very clear if it was THE reason) she didn’t want them is because she was worried she might pass her dyslexia on to them and Nick Reassured her for half a second about it. But nothing was clear and that conversation wasn’t even from when they were actually dating.

I know this is a long rant about one thing but to make something seem like such a big deal and then never wrap it up caused me to lose focus throughout the book as I waited for it.

I did love Nick. And I love childhood friends to lovers. The storyline was cute. The sex scenes were good. The writing was good. I won’t give up on this author. I plan to read Body Check next. This is just a personal annoyance for me so if it won’t bother you, definitely don’t let it deter you from reading!

I loved Nick & Mina's story the first time I read it and loved it even more on audio! I love the best friend's brother trope and this was so well done. I loved their chemistry and the fake relationship aspect. I loveddd the narrators. It was the first time I had heard Patrick Zeller & Scarlette Hayes but it won't be the last!

3.5

3.75. Took a bit to grow on me. This was technically fake dating but it turns real very fast which was refreshing. I feel like a lot of the conflict in fake dating is the insecurities of the characters wondering if what they have is real. This doesn’t have that which I kinda loved.

4.5, rounded up. Read ima couple of hours and it was the perfect distraction
emotional hopeful fast-paced

Hold Me Today kicks off the Put a Ring On It series with a huge bang! This book has everything. There’s romance, laugh out loud comedy moments, drama, and the anticipation that I love and have come to expect from Maria Luis.

I just loved Nick and Mina’s story! They had fantastic banter and scorching chemistry. She was a sassy heroine and he was a sweet romantic yet dirty-talking hero. I loved that even though they were opposites, personality wise, beyond the snark and sass, they saw each other in a positive light. I loved the history they shared and how they balanced each other out. They were just gorgeous and totally perfect together.

What I particularly enjoyed about Hold Me Today, is the glimpses into the Greek culture we get throughout this book. Maria uses her own experiences to bring the culture of her upbringing to life within the pages and I absolutely loved it.

There is definitely more than meets the eye with these two and Maria Luis has done a phenomenal job delving deep into their hearts and giving us a story that will make you laugh, cry, swoon and ultimately melt.
