Bleh… Couldn’t get past chapter 1. I just wanted to read something very light to distract myself from a hectic week. But not this light.

I would have almost given simply 3 stars here, but halfway through my rating meter shifted. I enjoyed the back and forth of these 2, and frankly, I enjoyed their banter and liked how this one ended. It could have been shorter and left out some of the fluff, but all in all, it was pretty good.

A solid 3.75-4, rounded up to 4.

Get this book on your Christmas reads list! Along Came Holly by Codi Hall is an engaging, fun, romantic read that’s perfect for the holiday season. It’s a part of a holiday series by Hall, and I’m really looking forward to going back and reading the rest of them. Now, to the book!

Meet Holly. She owns the holiday shop on Main Street and this season is looking like it’s going to be a great one. Meet Declan. He owns the hardware store on Main Street, next to the holiday shop. He’s hired to set up her holiday lights display (the money was too good to refuse, especially for a Scrooge), and hijinks ensure. Will Declan be able to admit his feelings, or will Christmas magic fail to ignite the spark of love?

I throughly enjoyed my trip to Mistletoe, Idaho with Holly and Declan! It was a sexy read, short, and so much fun. I found this to be a really cute story and it got me all up in my feels. I highly recommend for those readers who like sweet romance during the holiday season!

This was a sweet conclusion to this trilogy. Love the reconciliation of family for one of the characters. Always enjoy a good enemies to lovers trope. Wasn’t riveting but was a low anxiety read. No third act break up.

SUMMARY: Contemporary Holiday romance. Dual POV. Book 3 of the Mistletoe series, although I just read this as a standalone novel.
TROPES: Grumpy / Sunshine, Enemies to Lovers, Forced Proximity, Opposites Attract, Small Town Romance.
SPICE: 3 stars (a couple of s*x scenes but overall was vanilla / traditional s*x).

PLOT: Holly Winters loves Christmas so much that she owns and operates a holiday shop in Mistletoe, Idaho and also has a YouTube / online persona called “Holly the Adventure Elf”, where she dresses up like an elf and does adventurous and daredevil type activities for her fans. Her holiday shop is next door the town’s hardware store which is run by Declan Gallagher. Declan hates Christmas so much he is always asking Holly to keep her music down and soon they’re both engaged in a prank war. They decide to put their differences aside when Declan’s handyman skills are required to assist Holly in installing her outside Christmas decorations and lights to participate in the towns light festival.

MY THOUGHTS: The story was cute. I liked hearing that Holly has done really well with her Adventure Elf series and that she used that money to start up her business and buy her own house. It was so great to read a self-sufficient heroine that was sure of herself, what she wanted and that she was just wanting to have fun. It seemed real in that she felt like she was getting a bit old to keep doing stunts and wanted to transition her channel into something less thrill seeking and struggles with what to do next.

I also like that Declan was an artist as well as a handyman. MINOR SPOILER: His fathers health issues and this parents dynamics was an interesting story as well and I liked reading about how he was navigating through it all.

Overall, this was a light, fun Christmas read that you don't really have to think too much about.

This was an adorable story that felt like a steamy Hallmark movie. The MMC was a little too grumpy for my taste and even felt intentionally mean at times. The FMC was lovable and redeemed the slight disappointment in the MMC. The series was overall a very sweet set of reads during the holiday season.

It's a yes from me

I enjoyed practically every second of this book! Nothing is better than enemies-to-lover, Christmas, HEALTHY COMMUNICATION, and NO 3rd act breakup!! Oh! Also, there was a cat! I'd die for that cat.

Anyway, Holly and Declan run neighboring businesses. Holly is Christmas spirit humanized, and Declan is the hot Grinch next door. So as you can imagine, they are experts at getting on each other's nerves. Until the prank war. Yes, a war is what begins the defrosting of these two, isn't that great?!

That's as far into a description as I'll go to avoid spoilers. It was so much fun to read. A perfect cozy read that doesn't require too much of your attention or obsession but gives you everything you want while you're in it. So good! I love Codi Hall!

I found the lead obnoxious and a bit selfish. Some other characters were also just annoying and unnatural.

Grumpy sunshine meets Jolly Sunshine. The prank wars between them were fun and entertaining. So much chemistry between these two. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is cause I didn’t really like the guy character that much! It was still a cute holiday read.
