I liked it but I wanted to shake Ayden! Jeez girl get a grip. It wasn't as sexy as the first one but I still liked it.
This was such a disappointment compared to Rule which I gave 5 stars to because I loved it. This book is nothing like it! It is so hard to find a series that are all really good. This authors formula worked....so why change it?? The ONLY thing I liked about Ayden was her name. She was the epitome of stupid/door mat. I skimmed a lot of it and really only enjoyed the end when they finally got their shit together. Yes....that happened at the very end of the book. I would have loved this if they had been together fighting all this family drama throughout the book. I loved Jet but he got robbed big time. Ayden was selfish....it was all about her feelings, family, and drama.

I seem to have hit a streak where the heroines just get on my last nerves. Here, we had a H who didn't play games once they got together and with all his baggage still invested in the h. The h, also had baggage and to give her her due, I can understand someone who wants to forget their past. But seriously, her self obsessing about her old self and her new self, her old self , her new self wore on me. This was what the whole plot hung on and I got bored of it. It also doesn't help when the author tries to make it all sunshine and light at the end, like making the h's brother vaguely redeemable. Should have left him a douche bag, that would be better, but then I get the feeling we're going to get a book about him. (edit) oops! just noticed, there is a book about him already.

After all this time, I still remember the first book of this series which is Rule. I remember Rule is the book that introduce me to Miss Crownover. Her NA romance is addictive. When I picked up Jet, I am expecting the same dynamic romance.
I read the reviews in the Goodreads, that Ayden is not popular heroine. And I joining that club. Ayden is a very needy heroine. She can not make up her mind about her life, her love life and her family. The connection/ chemistry between Ayden and Jet is not helping. This book focus more on each individual struggle instead of building the chemistry between both of them.
The I love you is too fast and too forced since the chemistry between them is minimum. Despite all of the shortcoming, I still enjoy the dynamic of the story. Miss Crownover still has her root in this book.

"When the right one comes along, Jet, you figure it out. You move mountains, you change your life and you do whatever it takes to keep them with you."
Although this was very similar to [b:Rule|17200687|Rule (Marked Men, #1)|Jay Crownover|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1357012113s/17200687.jpg|23675925], I enjoyed the story more. The storyline was interesting. The characters were great. Some things were unexpected, however, others were predictable. Overall, it was an enjoyable read.
