Ok Laura!

Daniel literally ruined her too and turned her family against her. Prick! Thank gawd for Samir since Daniel was such a piece of work. Excited to start book 2.

Another great read from this author, but because I read these books out of order now I am sad I don't have any more books to read in this series! After I read the first book in the series I was meh on reading Laura's story and honestly wasn't planning on reading it, but after loving everything else I said why not? And I am so glad I did because Laura and Samir are great together!

In this novella we get to see what happens to Laura, Daniel's other victim aside from Ruth in book 1.
Laura leaves Daniel while she's approx 2-3 months pregnant, running to the seaside town her parents took her to when she was 15. Her first night there she literally trips over the first boy she ever loved but never saw again after that summer, Samir.
This is a second chance romance as well as a finding your strength again journey for Laura. It was super sweet, but my favorite part was actually the author's note where she says she couldn't leave a person even a fictional one in that situation, it made me tear up a bit.

i honestly feel like i would like this book better if it was a full fleshed out novel. if it was, i could definitely see myself really liking it.

I really enjoyed this book and gave it a positive 3 stars. I read it over the course of 2 evenings but absolutely would have binged it in one sitting if I'd picked it up at the weekend. Samir made for a very compelling love interest and I desperately wanted to keep reading and see Laura really free herself from Daniel's clutches. I was also completely charmed by how Laura and Ruth's relationship has developed into a full-blown, heart-squeezing friendship since Ravenswood 1 - I hope we get another peek in Ravenswood 2, or at least passing mention of Laura busy thriving by the seaside with Samir...

This was short and sweet and just what I needed after reading A Girl Like Her. I was curious to know what happened with Laura after I finished the first book and was happy to find she got a story of her own that was well written and tugged at my heart strings.
