10/10 vibes. Super interesting mystery that had me devouring every word. Let me down on a few of the expectations I developed early on, hence the 4/5.

for someone who is drawn to dark atmospheric literature set in an academic setting, this took me three tries to get into. Nonetheless, it was a fun read! I'd read it again for the intense setting it manages to build, but the characters were far less memorable.

let me fucking tell you what a roller coaster this book was. so much better than what I expected. the last 40 pages literally had me fucking sat up straight. started out with the knowledge of it being sapphic dark academia, enough for me to want to read it. we have dead girls, thesis projects that are all consuming, witchcraft and covens, murder mystery, and romance with betrayal. and also we are uncovering what actually happened to Alex. absolutely insane and I really enjoyed this. however ot was slow to start and I had trouble getting into it.

It didn’t hook me in and I ended up putting this book off because I just wasn’t into it. Even after finishing it, I feel very “meh” about it.
